Has anyone who applied in Nov 2015 heard anything back yet?

I sent my documents to CIC on November 2, 2015 and have not received or heard anything from them. No file number yet.

Interesting...we're both almost 5 months into the process now. Did you apply on your own, or go through an immigration lawyer?

I wonder if anyone else who applied late in 2015 has heard anything...?

I applied on my own. Did you do yours on your own as well? I heard from 2 consultants during the recent newcomers fair that their clients are getting their file numbers around 3 months from submitting their documents and I've talked to someone and the person said that people who use consultants/lawyers get theirs first as their consultant/lawyer have connections, bringing our applications down under. Seems fair??? What do you think?

I actually didn't do mine myself, I retained - at considerable expense - an immigration lawyer to handle mine for this very reason. It is a fact of the human condition that connections and contacts unlock a lot of doors, no matter where you happen to live.

In my case it hasn't seemed to do much of anything as I'm in the same situation as yourself 5 months after my lawyer submitted my application.

I just called up CIC and to my disappointment I was told that they only received my documents last Feb 22 2016 when in fact I have submitted my documents in November with a courier tracking number to prove. So better call CIC to see where yours are. The CIC agent said that it only takes unto 120days to receive an acknowledgement letter

They charged my credit card last April 5 and this afternoon I got my file number. Hope you get yours soon.
