hmmm. I also took 4 trips to my home country
within last 3 years. Strange they are issuing
RQ for reasons like these. Thats not fair. I only
have put 1100 physical residence days on my application.

How could you apply before two years following your PR. I believe a typo happens in dates, Perhaps you meant :
Feb 2014 - applied for Citizenship
Apr 2015 - Test

sorry my bad :) ... you are right :)

Nov 2011 PR
Feb 2014 applied for citizenship
April 2015 test

Godhelp, we do not have many instances based on posts in this forum and similar discussion fora to come to the conclusion that Calgary office is issuing a lot of RQ. If you check the spreadsheet we use in tracking our timeline, very few RQ cases. I will therefore urge that you remain positive. Requirement is 1095 days and your 1100 physical presence days in 4 years exceeds this requirement.

In fact, if you follow all the communication from CIC and the Minister, everything is geared towards clearing the backlog prior to commencement of the new citizenship qualification process. This alone should make for fewer RQ cases except where inevitable (e.g. not meeting 1095 days physical residence, inconsistencies in residence calculator and CBSA records, weak or passive proof of residence, etc).

thanks femzade. I have one more question.
I have submitted my canada citizenship application. I also have H1B visa
to be able to work in usa. Now if I go to US for
work during my application process, does cic still have problem
with the same, and would they cause me problem in future
because i was working outside canada during my application process ???

thanks,
Godhelp

Godhelp, US ties, especially any tie that has some legal resident status (Green Card, HB1 visa etc) is often a red flag and I have read in many online discussions that these ties trigger RQ. Since you can always move freely between the two countries with your HB1 and your Canadian PR, citizenship officers will often require to carry out extensive travel and residence checks to ensure you have really stayed the number of days you claim on your citizenship application.

If you can delay your travel to US until after determination of your application, that may be better for you. However, if your livelihood depends on the US work, you may not have any option than to go. Ultimately, even if you receive RQ, what is important is to prove that you have lived in Canada for 1095 days in the 4 years preceding your application date.

Best of luck in your decision.

freetorch, RQ can be issued at any stage of the process, it depends on the trigger. I have seen applicants who received RQ from Sydney processing centre and I have also seen those who received RQ prior to test invitation and even after the test.

dear friends,

I did a mistake on my citizenship application.

I forget to mention the Apt No# and in the Apt number
column entered the Street Number

for example for 2010 Redwood Street , apt # C
I by mistake put 2010 in Apt no column on application form and 'Redwood' under Street Number & Street column
on the Citizenship application
form. Is it a very big mistake.

thanks,
Godhelp

1. Call CIC if they are able to track the status of your app
2. If they couldn't find it then wait for 2-3 months if the application is to return
3. If not returned and got AOR by email then change your address online once your ecase is active
4. If no AOR by email but mail you also can change the address online once the ecase is arrive

Take it easy brah not the end of the world thing can be fixed but need time ehh

Femzade do you have any idea how much time Calgary office takes for RQ case to finalize ?

I inquired on the status of my application though my MP and he was told by CIC that now the processing time is 44 months on RQ applicants. I don't believe that ? May be Calgary office is simply giving this number to avoid further inquiries.
