Normal Processing Times from Calgary office?

@YYC_CICGUY, i was reading that thread earlier today. It does change expected days from LOT to Test notification. We back to square one. as of right now, i don't think we have any representative timelines to estimate how long it will take. Guess we will have to sit tight and wait for Panorama47 and dineshabe to update us on when they get the Test notification. Hopefully then we would be in a better position. Its a little frustrating cause I know Mississauga and Scarborough offices are sending Test notification within two months from LOT while Calgary seems to sit on these applications for a while.

yes, Calgary office looks slower than the other offices. I called CIC last week, and they mentioned that my file is being transferred to the local office( Calgary) and that takes couple weeks to transfer. So, the person was not able to give the detail for the transfer date. Looks, Local office transfer ( LOT) date is File Arrival to local office date or when the local office file accepttance date.

@ a.R. - No need to worry about much, I observed a drastic improvement in file transfers which used to take almost a year in Sydney, now happening within 5months. Most importantly you need to notice the fact that there was a huge change in english profficiency requirements from Nov 2012 onwards, which means, many applicants have to either undergo english courses or approved tests. Also from July 2013 onwards CIC hiring more staff(thanks to EAP funding $44milion) to eliminate the backlog and looks like they made some processing changes(Less RQs) too. Taking all these things into account, I believe it would be faster than before. Having said that only worrying factor is Old backlog at calgary office might delay our cases a bit.

@last.fortune.last - Talk to a different call center agent, you have to recognise a fact that, they are people like us......some of them even dont know how and where to look in the system. Try again and see what they say this time, be respectful with them....they will give you what you need.

@Msafiri - Thanks for your help & support to this thread.....very useful info.

Even though Touches file was merged, it was still sent to the local office on Oct 11th.
a.R made a valid point about the cut off dates, and the Oct 17th LOT files might not have been touched and might just be the next ones to come up.
For all the applicants we know of in this forum thats all we can go by.

So lets see what happens.

Keep it to date guys

Cheers

I'm fairly optimistic about timelines. It does seem like CIC has been able to decrease them dramatically. Also, from what CIC agent told dineshabe, it seems as if dineshabe will be getting the Test notification by may. So keep your hopes up guys, and do keep everyone in the loop. We almost there.

@ jeune, do you know if your file got transferred to Calgary Local office before the RQ? Are RQ only raised by Sydney or can they be raised by local office, after your file has been transferred as well??

The RQ was issued by Calgary CIC as per post about 3/4 down on the page. The forum I provided a timeline to on April 22 has yet another YYC applicant with almost an identical timeline though no detail on oath. Still not enough numbers from Calgary Office to get a clear picture but its noticeable the backlog of files going into process in Q12013 and delayed for LO transfer due to the flooding is significant.

Its noticeable that batch pulls from Sidney to Calgary are getting faster so there is a shorter timeline between In Process and LOT but if you had a huge inventory of LOTd files before this 'improvement' then your faster LOT is negated when your test date just gets pushed out. Unless Calgary increases its test schedules then overall 'routine' processing times will stay at 16+ months which when Ontario is getting done in 6 months is a kick to the teeth. If I was a Q32013, Q42013 or Q12014 applicant I'd get my GCMS notes to see my background check expiry dates as this would tell me when I need to start worrying if no test notification was in my mail!

Hi everyone

My (family of 4) time line is as follows:

Application received on April 8, 2013
Start processing application on June 11, 2013

I live in Calgary and I am going to find out about the transfer date in a day or so.

My question is , at what stage one gets RQ ? is it before or after transferring file to local office?
Secondly, start processing application means, we do not have to give English Language proof?

@a.R : My wife got an RQ from the local Calgary Office Feb end; docs submitted March 4th Week; She got her Test Letter Today! I applied 4 months before her, got no RQ and am still waiting for a test date.
