Hello duke, have you gotten any response to this yet? i also want to know if a PNP candidate with an employer specific support letter is eligible to apply for the open work permit.
if anyone has gotten a better understanding about this policy please share as it will be highly usefull
Even if you get nomination certificate, you may NOT allowed for open bridge work permit, all time. Instead, you are prompted to apply for closed work permit as well. let me explain the case here, so you would have better understanding.
First of all PNP candidate have two scenario,
Case 1. Get 600 points in their express entry profile if they fall under federal skilled worker.
(here, they have to submit their PR file with all required documents, then they will get AOR and eligible to apply for open bridge work permit.)
Case 2. IF THEY HAVE NOT get 600 point then, PNP will send them an email with 4 documents. In which they clearly say, you will be applying for Non-express entry for Permanent residency. In that case nominee must apply for LMIA-exempt, employer specific work permit (closed work permit) if their current work permit is about to expire.
1. Work permit support letter,
2. Nominee certificate
3. Minister welcome letter
4. Nomination Approval letter.
Now, if you are running our of time in your open work permit period then you need above 4 documents and some documents form your employer to apply for LMIA-exempt, employer specific work permit (closed work permit).
Document from employer end.
1. Your employer need to create a job offer for you, on Employer Portal. (here you need submitted application number by your employer)
2. Your Employer need to pay compliance fees, once he submitted all form on Employer Portal which is $230 CAD, and tell them to take screenshot of payment. Payment number (Start with Oxxxxx) you might need when you filling IMM5710.
3. Your most recent employment letter along with contract letter. It should be sign by employer and nominee.
These are mandatory documents if your situation falls under Case 2.
Thanks,
