Hi Everyone,

Any marketing managers here that are looking for a job before they land in Canada? I know I am looking for something to start off.

Anyone else?

Regards,
Rick

Hi,

I tried searching but it seems pretty hard as I am not able to give them the date of arrival.

I was told for several applications that my CV is very interesting and that I should definitely get back to them once I have all the documents done. :(

You?

Hi Rick,

I am also searching and intend to have a job before landing. Yet, this seems to be difficult unless I guess one has to first settle down and then search job over there.

However, I believe this waiting period before CC/PER is a good time to invest in gathering informations related to job market.

Any suggestions on what should be our next steps or way forward in this context?

Regards,

Hi Experts,

Please review my department, designation name and my responsibilities. I think my responsibilities match NOC 1123, but my designation is called Sales Support Executive, which seems to fall under a separate NOC.

Company: Mobile Phone Operator
Department: Trade Marketing and Sales Operations
Designation: Sales Support Executive

Major Responsibilities:
• Conceptualize communication and plan strategy for effective implementation in conjunction with partner agencies, cross functional teams
• Planning and executing special campaigns that enhance brand visibility.
• Initiate, review and communicate promotion letters for ATL and BTL campaigns
• Develop strong working knowledge of product lines and marketing initiatives, establish promotional sales goals/objectives, and measure results on a regular basis.
• Design, compile and publish internal daily and monthly newsletter
• Support channel sales by 360 degree marketing and communication programs
• Plan, design & manage the Trade Marketing Strategic Projects’ i.e. trade meet, outlet categorization project, mobile fairs etc..
• Prepare, compile and monitor all pre and post campaign reports

Do you think the above details will be acceptable under NOC 1123?

Thanks in advance for your valuable advice.

Hi Rick/ Helena/ Others,

Could you please elaborate on leads like? So that, our search is more focussed... did you mean 'Job Search Agencies, Consultants, Websites, etc'...

Immigrant serving organizations & CIIP... would be a great source... Thanks Rick!

Amit,

Thanks a lot for your prompt feedback. It's November 15th and my WES evaluation is due to arrive in a day or two. Will send my entire application in a few days. Don't know if I have much luck, as we are closing in on the December deadline. But, I am still thinking of trying my luck. What is your feedback?

One more question, if I apply this year, will I be eligible to apply under Express entry next year? Any idea how it works? Should I wait and see if my application is accepted or should I go ahead and apply ASAP in January, as soon as the Express Entry process opens up?

Anyone else, please feel free to give your opinions. Also, please check & reply to my earlier post regarding NOC.

Thanks
Tan09

I firmly believe that if there is an opportunity then it must be seized and not hope for it to come again in the future.

For initial application u need:
- reference letters of you eligible (NOC 1123) experiences
- Educational Assessment (WES) report
- IELTS Score TRF
- Funds in your account ( u must be a sole owner or only ur spouse can be a joint owner)
- Birth certificate.

If u have all this available, then I'll recommend that you start filling in the forms and get ur application on the way!

Presently, we are only getting good hints and views of how EE may be. Y wait for something uncertain!

Good luck ;)

Regards,
For the moment I am browsing through different websites and when I find something that I like I apply.

I used LinkedIn as the main source of info, and then from there I was browsing sites of particular companies.

Also a good source is a site called Glassdoor. It has job postings, ratings of companies, average salaries and many other useful info.

Indeed jobs is another one I look at.

For those who speak french there is Isarta emplois.

And also Job Bank and Monster.

If I come up with something more useful, I'll let you guys know.

Does anyone have some other sources? Or tried Executive Search companies?

Thanks a lot EnthuCap. My WES report was scheduled to complete on Dec 2, 2014. Fortunately, I received an email from WES saying they completed my ECA report on 11/11. It is due to arrive tomorrow, the 16th. So, I am getting the rest of the documents ready to send the complete application ASAP.

Please clarify,

1. Is it necessary for my husband to provide his job experience letter although i am the PA? If this is not obligatory, then he prefers to submit one later on, if the VO asks for it.

2. About the financial solvency, What can we put in the "asset", "Liabilities" & "Unencumbered funds" sections? Could I mention a land that I own, & one owned by my husband under Asset? If I have no loans, thenliabilities should be empty. So, is it correct to put my required amount Bank ending balance, under Unencumbered funds? Can I show any fixed deposit as unencmbered fund? My father has prepared a "statement of Financial Affidavit" stating that he will provide financial support to his daughter and her family, in getting settled in Canada. Will that add to my credibility, in addition to the amount in my bank account required by CIC?

Thanks,
tan09

Everyone else - I have a list of 800 openings from LinkedIn. You have to use marketing and Toronto as keywords for search. Of course 40-50% of the leads will not be related to you or not interesting enough. 400 jobs then & 278 new 1123's searching jobs in Canada as of now (just kidding, looks pretty nice to me)

Let's brainstorm more on this next week? It's a mite bit late right now.

Regards,
Rick
