Hello All,

I am urgently in need of your advise here, I'm post 2008 applicate and my application has been in-process since feb 2010 so going by comments here I should be expecting medicals anything time from now but the issue is we are expecting our Baby in march.
So the question is
Do I write to Accra asking them not to send medicals pending the arrival of my baby and update of my application?

My regrets as I'll not be attending our meeting as I am based in Warri & work won't allow travel this time.

On second thought my dear, am just wondering in process sine february 2010 is a bit strange to me, because as at february last year accra was a bit faster than this for post 2008. have you ever sent email to enquire about your status? what about making a case specific inquiry ordering your caips notes? They sure should have an explanation to make i will advise you write let it not be that medical request came and passed unnoticed (sometimes through junk/spam mail or incorrect postal address).

Congrats in advance for the baby

The reason for this PR is bcos of your kids.Man you are his father and not his friends,we know he is a brillant!why allow him to work under his friends shadow(peer pressure).not a case of peer pressure, he is currently at home and see others going to school and feels bad staying at home You have a better plan that will guarantee him of a good future(PR) why look left and right, for you hv the answer to your situation. All you need do,sit him down and spk to him in a son and father manner.Don't jeopardise your chances wt the VO.Ig

Please i would not want you guys to sense my action as a sign of rush, i am working with my son's resumption time and after reading some of QORAX posts i am sensing it might be longer than i anticipated so i do not want to tie my son's future to it. I am sure you know that it is not 100% certain that an individual would receive the PR even at this level, God forbid if such happens, would i then go and start to process the permit which was categorically stated that an applicant apply a minimum of 3months to resumption time and he is scheduled for resumption on September.I am a person who plans, if i want to do something i explore all options and try them out so i am not totally disappointed at the end of the day if something negative happens. I especially learnt that in my sisters case they totally relied on the PR and did not process other options but got theie PR can celled after receiving itl. As for leaving alone and influences, there is no problem with that as he would be leaving with my brother and his family, infact my sister's husband currently attends the same college where my son would be attending. I have got so many family members in that area so he is not going to be leaving or schooling alone. I can not place my son's future on the PR, i have worked out 4 options for him i want to make sure he resumes school this year as i have promised him. He has never let me down in any form (educationally, socially etc.) so i do not also want to let him down.

I have recently seen others who are also processing the PR (infact the principal applicant) apply for the student permit and were given and have suggested i go ahead and it does not affect the PR. I am seeking opinions of different people so i thank you all for your opinions and would still appreciate more. I want to be totally clear before taking the step

Another thing that came to my mind is the issue of phones (mobile and Landline), any one got idea on how it work especially in Alberta? I have been told that maintaining a phone is very expensive as result some make do with out a phone. That would be very ridiculous if it is true, even in Nigeria a 4 year old child in the current nigeria has a phone talk much more of an adult, some adults even have 4 to 5 phones. Can some put light on that issue.

"Pa Awoderu"
I'll advise you paste this under "Landed 9ija" thread for more and better on-ground info.

Oloye, Barsindo et all can still water the ground anyway.

My beloved bother AWODERU

please go ahead and apply for your son study permit. I want to assure you that you will received the VISA for your son because your application for permanent residence is pending. Please mention it in his application.

I intend living in ALBERTA. Phone is not a luxury . Here in Nigeria, because of its cheapness, some Nigerians have up to 10 lines. In ALBERTA, it is not so. Your son can always call you using payphone. No need to worry.

To all my beloved Nigerians- GREETING to

I am bit worried about that b/cos I got my 2nd AOR in Feb 2010 with instruction to do IELTS, which I did and updated my application with it sometime in April 2010 then I sent them a case specific enquiry Jan. 2011 and they reply was:

Be assured your application is in queue for review; however an exact schedule is not available at this time. As you know, all applications are reviewed in the order in which they were received.
Please refer to the CIC web site for information on standard processing times:
No further action is required by you at this time.

My timeline is as follows: appli recv 08/2009, 1st AOR 10/2009, 2nd AOR /in-process 02/2010, anybody with same timeline here????

Awoderu,

I believe your line of thought about your son's future is very valid. Today is the only opportunity we have.

iii & tinu,

The part payment relates to the consultant. Her total bill is $2,000 USD and N200,000. I have paid $500 USD and N100,000 in order to start her consulting work on my application. Also most of my required documentations have been sent to her office like transcripts for me and my spouse. The only outstanding is just reference letters from my current and previous place of work. I have my IELTS result available and she has requested I send it in so she can get everything ready for the July 1, 2011 date.

Am a chartered accountants and applying under professional in business management.

Regards.

Awoderu, wait for your PR man.Your son is 16 for me is way too young to be left on his own.You seem to be in a hurry, one thing at a time pls.All they require of you,you can not meet them, think through pls and make up your mind on what u really want. Ig

It is quite funny, just a couple of years back (2004), i would been pleaded with, convinced and given reasons why i should apply i eventually applied in 2010 now i seem to be in a hurry. If any one had predicted that i would apply for PR i would have strongly disagreed. This life is very funny
