Please Seniors in the house guide and inform me on this: I was using a postal (P.O box) address to receive correspondence from CIC & AVO but iI later preferred to use my Email for prompt response..so I sent AVO a written letter to change from my P.O box address to using my Email...I have done this for over 1month & 3weeks now but my ecas has not reflected the change.Is this how its suppose to be? how long does it take for it to reflect in my ecas? or should I still allow some time? I need some advice here.

You took those words out of my mouth. Just to add a bit to what you have said, am a PNP applicant under the Manitoba Exploratory Stream. During my interview after my visit to Winnipeg, one discussion lead to the other and the immigration officer did mention that they read all this blogs and forum, meaning you can never imaging some questions/queries/opinion/perceptions that a visa officer can raise or have concerning we Naija applicants.

Please let us be guided.

Hi Ekundapsy! I am a new forum member that joined the forum yesterday. Congrats on your recent achievement in securing your Canada immigration PR visa after a very long wait. I applied on Sept 6, 2013 for FSW1, FSW 2013 with NOC 2134(chemical engineering) and received my PER on Nov 28, 2013.

However I would like to know if AVO asked you to re- present proof of funds(POF) either at the point of MR, PPR or PRV? If they did, what kind of account did they ask for or do have preference for? Is it fixed deposit statements, current account balance or savings account balance. At the point of submitting my application I presented fixed deposit statement of 2 months while my spouse presented current account balances for 6 months.

After that we've depleted our accounts for some other expenses. I ask in order to know if we need to start building up our accounts. Will combination of any of these accounts suffice? When do you advise we should start? Let me know what your experience was like.

Sorry for replying this late, been a little occupied with preparations.
My simple advice is this: the processing is faster now than it was a few years ago. Pls, always have your POF ready at any point in time. We cannot predict whether Accra will ask for it at MR or PPR, but it's always good never to be caught unawares.
Your POF must be in an easily accessible form, that has been made clear by CIC. fixed deposits, bank balances and statements of account are the best. Any type of account is used. In my own case, I used a naira savings account, with the equivalent as my balance.

You have absolutely nothing to worry about.
I want to believe that the email address you're talking about is the one you wrote down in your initial application form to CIC in Nova Scotia. If you look at that application package again, you will see where it's written that filling an email address authorizes them to communicate with you thru the email as the preferred form of correspondence.
Your ecas will always display the P.O. box address, mine still does,even after "Decision made", and all the correspondence I got from CIC and AVO were all through my email.
The important thing to do, is to make sure you cannot miss any mail that comes to you. Check your email EVERYDAY. Never bulk delete, look through each mail to make sure it's not what you're expecting.
Sift thru your bulk, spam, junk mail boxes before you delete anything.
Someone had posted earlier about a gmail peculiarity that makes finding mails in the inbox a little difficult. Pls, check for that post and read thru, if you use gmail.
