As for your friend MBBS he will get 22 Points. It will be counted as first degree but with lengthier years of education for NOC 3112 you say.

Emo, You didnt get that right. MBBS is classified as a first degree. Every degree has its own stipulated lenght of studies. Should a first degree obtainned in either 3,4,5 or 7 years it is still 20 points for such degree. CIC/CHC awards points by the number of years officially required to complete a program by the academic board of a particular country Not by the number of years you spent on a course. I spent 6,5,5 =16 years from primary - university yet i was awarded 20points. Remember that CIC web page says a 1st degree with at least 14 years of full time, therefore, if you spent 20 years to obtain any kind of degree, you will be awarded 20 points. The only people who can obtain 22points are people who obtain 2 or more diploma certificates other than university, and those who had a master degree. The HND,PGD nursing and a three years course certificates will easily fall on this category ''cos'' they had 2 or more diploma certificates, and have spent atleast 15 years during their course of study.

Therefore, MBBS is a first degree with at least 14 years of full time course, though MBBS course requires 7 years in the university, and those who followed this course must have spent 18 - 20 years from PRY - UNI, but they still fall under a degree with atleast 14 years of full time course. Consider the word ''atleast'' please

DYDX says they asked him for one year bank statement in November haven submitted proof of funds in May thats quite tricky. I want to advise that we all be a bit careful in rushing to withdraw all money or substancial amount of money immediately after submission this is becuase VO can always ask for repeat POF.

In my case i wrote a covering note saying i dont want to tie my money down for long hence i will be withdrawing it from time to time to do business that might not work for everyone but please be careful. I also told the VO that i sometimes invest in properties and cash crops with a view to selling them when the price appreciates hence i can explain any large withdrawal during this process.

As earlier mentioned by other members its obvious Accra has ran out of slots for this year hence the lack of movement. What i dont understand is why they cant continue with the process so we know its only passport request we are waiting for. For instance, persons submitted full documents in April and some in May yet they have not been issued medical request. One would expect that Accra will issues Medical request atleast to let this persons know they have crossed the bar in anycase the VO knows better.

Lets keep our fingers crossed meanwhile i have decided to keep myself busy with other stuff so i dont get too apprehensive or start checking status every tuesday. I believe if its in God's plan for us to emigrate then its just a matter of time and the Visa will come out. I have done my best. Goodluck to us all

Thats a smart one however your advice is a good one. So that no one will be caught with a scenario that will be disadvantageous to him/her even though his intentions and dealings are innocent. Some people operate high traffic account. please be on the guard.

All i did was go to the bank informing them that i needed a statement of account for submission to the Canadian High Commission. The bank would then know what to do cos they have been doing it. I was given a reference letter addressed to the canadian High Commission with my bank statement attached to it offcourse paying a charge fee. I got from both Intercontinental and FCMB.

I employed the services of a consultant which my brother suggested; my brother and his family and my sister and her family processed theirs through the same consultant and have received their PR already. So i thought it wise to do same. It is part of the protocol to forward the documents to their office first for examination.

The document i was asked to provide was more than what the visa office requested all in a bid to avoid additional document request and other problems.

Tinu, Pardon me if this is harsh. Withdrawing your money for business does not affect you in any manner, what CHC looks for in bank statements is your ability or capability of catering for yourself and your family when in canada and the frequencies of cash flows and the cash balance. If CHC demand for your POF at the time you must have withdrew a huge sum of amount from your account for business, it is your responsibilty to provide evidence. I would like to remind you that CIC says uncumbered and readily transferable fund should be presented as a proof of fund, this can be in form of Bank statements and/or investment certificates. Should you want to present your investment as a POF, Money tied on Properties or cash crop is cumbered and not readily transferable. Should you informed the CHC that you invest on properties and cash crops, you may need to do a cost evaluation on the properties by a recognised and registered estate/property evaluation company, who will evaluate the cost of your properties and give you a certificate for that. This certificate can be used as a proof of your fund. Written a covering letter will not do alone, rememeber that no matter your HIGH SCORE, a proof of fund is so important to VO and must be convinced that truly you have the money readily OR avialble, Your type of covering letter may trigger CHC to demand for additional proof to make sure you have the fund. If you cannot provide alternative proof of fund in terms of your investment should you have withdrew money for your investment, then, i would advice you to leave your money as it were on your account until CHC demands for it again, please

I have a different view to your explanation that you can explain reason for last withdrawal. Mind you, Canada wants you to have a SAVINGS unencumbered! That of course should be available amount at any time t…however, with your explanation if you choose to do a business with such money and there is a huge and substantial loss what do you do? Do you expect the visa office to wait for you till you recoup the loss?

I guess what we should do is to leave the money permanently till we are called for our visa. Of course one can invest in a risk free financial assets that are formal like Treasury bill, fixed deposit.

The POF matter is bringing out alot of issues. But the point is not about uncontrolled speed to submit, but what is the implication of what you are about submitting, Please lets ask questions. So that we will all get together across the Atlantic to celebrate a community of those who pass through the eye of ACCRA needle.
The British people will recon with money sitting down in the account untouched for 90days as unencumbered.
