I would to travel to and from UK without having to worry about the visa hurdles and if worse comes to worst (hope not!) move back to UK. There is no harm in plan B, abi?
*Mandie*
Recall That the status has to be serviced, I mean maintained. So I would that our man focus and get one and go ahead to be citizen with the one and then other stuff can follow.

However, there may not be reason for all the trouble if HO releases the Passport to him on time and he gets the CPRV.

But even at that, he will have to figure out how to maintain the residency both ways.

mandie!!!Who teach you "abi"?

@ Emo. Please can you further give us reasons you chose Canada ten times before Uk once. These might be useful to those of us struggling in making decision in this area.

Thank you.
Hi, this is a matter of personal decision/choice. One's decision to choose Canada above UK could differ from the other. You have to make that decision...which you can start by reesrching your new destination in terms of job opportunities/wages, health care etc.
What I love abou the UK is the ability to just go to my GP for appointments and be referred to hospital check ups without having to have any sort of insurance.... If I will miss anything it is the healthcare and off cause the high value of the pounds :p.
I guess Canada is my desired destination, I too want to be one of the happiest people on earth! :p :-*

I'm so sure that there are a lot of us on this forum that cannot let a single day pass without getting updates from this forum... Its really becoming addictive... I hope the addiction reduces when I get my Visa...else, I might have to see a therapist immediately I land canada.

May all our deepest desires be fulfilled in Jesus name !

My reason first and foremost is personal. I don't like most things British.

The ripple effect of the melt down is still very much on, in the UK and if you ask most alien in the country, things have really changed since our elite man David Cameron assumes the post of the powerful man there.

Most British am privileged to access their opinion were only waiting for the next election to vote him out.

Canada in its real make up is an immigrant country, everyone seems to be coming from somewhere and so the complex or the age long tradition of this is my country others are alien is not as rooted.

Canada is larger. leaving big room for improvement and spacious living. In my opinion London and the cities of the UK don't really impress or live up to their expectation.

Canada is cleaner

Closer to the US and that leaves the door of business opportunities open. If you have interest in tech biz. US is large enough biz place.

@NKON
I think u should still put ur post on the London thread. There u're likely to find pple who have been in the same shoes before. They will be in the best position to advice with first hand info.
Above all, i support what other forumites said. At the long run, one is likely to go for the other since u can't leave in two places at the same time if and when ILR & CPRV come thru. I must confess though, that the thought of starting all over again in an unknown place gets at me once in a while, but i believe that God will make a way.
So my bro/sis, say ur prayers and let God have his way. He will make all things work together for ur ultimate good.

@ Emo,
I know you are going to lecture me, but I will say it anyway :p
On Monday I sent a CSE to AVO saying:
Hi,
I just wanted to find out when applicants from Ministerial Instructions 2 and 3 will start receiving medical requests as the focus is currently on MI 1. Will processing start for such applicants after the June MI 1 deadline?

I applied on 19 May 2011 and sent updated documents in August. My e-cas currently states 'Received by Visa Office.

I hope I do hear something soon.

Thanks for your time and the good work you are all doing at the Accra CHC.

Regards,
Mandiebraxton

Seconds ago, I received a response from AVO saying:

"Hello:

MI2 and MI3 cases are also been processed at this time. Your application may be in a review queue.

Regards,"
