If the pre Feb 2008 application is still going on as baba Oloye said, any idea when will it get to the late 2009 applications? Just curious. It was moving fast at the early stages but now its like standstill...

hhhhmmm - I work with computers - developing applications and it appears anything IT is no more listed. The funniest thing now is that the processing time for pre-Feb 2008 applicants keep increasing when you check it online. To be realistic I think it may be upto 2013 to 2014 before they reach 2007 applicants - do you think this is fair expectation on my side?

You can also try the PNP program. To qualify you need to do a master or PHD program at least thats what ontario requires. Upon completion you can then apply for nomination after which you proceed to the PR stage you can check out this link

I would advice old applicants (2007,2008) to reapply under the new law.It is faster and better

I am new to this forum. I will be glad to receive information and be educated as we go on. I submitted full application to Accra on the 6th of August, except my husband's PCC from the US, which is taking a long time to get.

Accra has updated their specific visa instructions. Please when sending full documents, for those of us yet to submit, note the following.

mail to the visa office the:
•photocopies of the forms you submitted to the CIO, and
•supporting documents required in this checklist, within the 120 day deadline set out by the CIO.
Refer to the instructions for Mailing to the Visa Office below.

FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT, YOU NEED TO SEND COPIES OF THE APPLICATION FORMS YOU MAILED TO CIO

If per adventure, you did not keep a copy, just retype everything as they were as at the time you send your application to CIO.

DO NOT for any reason change the information and later put a covering letter....Just leave the info as they were and rather make a seperate note for any changes in your status.


I have read ion this forum where someone suggested that a new set of form be filled...Pls do not do so!!!!

Sorry to say my dear but from what i have learnt so far your nigeria master wont count much in canada. If your ultimate aim is to relocate there , then start planning a master program there at least to boost your chances of getting employed as well as taking you to canada earlier than your present application can take you.

You can also try thier job sitess the chances are low but not impossible if you get a job from nija you can apply under arranged employment option

I have a little problem here o. I need suggestions ASAP. I sent in my full application on the 2nd of August. I was not aware of this new change of rules from Accra. I still check the website a day before I mailed my application, nothing new. Now they are requesting for photocopies of the forms sent to CIO. The letter we got from CIO suggested that we fill fresh application forms, and that was what we did. We waited till this time because my husband is based in the US( I am the principal applicant). His police certificate is taking longer than necessary(they said that it could take as long as 15 weeks to get) We have not received it up till now. He got a police certificate from the state of Florida instead and we mailed it with the Police certificate we obtained in 9ja with a letter explaining that we have applied for the federal police certificate. I will be glad to receive suggestions on this. Our 120 days deadline just passed.

The new form filled is it with same information as the one previously submitted? if yes then no problem at all but if you alter the information therein then there might be problem.

Like Tinu just said..........You should be fine if all the info are same as sent to CIO..


But then lets assume there were little amendment here and there on the forms, I trust you should stioll be fine since you attached a covering letter explaining the changes.

There were little changes: My husband's passport expired, so he got the new e-passport, this was filled in the form. One of my siblings relocated to a new address, I included this as well and indicated that I made these changes.

the 20000 cap applies to post june 26 applicants.Pre june 26 applicants are safe from the rule
