We cannot blame Jega solely for the problems of the elections. Jega was even more decent to announce that the materials arrived late and take responsibility compared to Moris Iwu 2007 elections when the election materials arrived late and the elections continued in to the night in some areas while the results where been announced simultaneously. INEC as an institution is already faulty. jega's case is just like changing the pilot mid-air and still having same co-pilot and same passengers with a faulty plane engine and you expect him to perform miracle. The Civil servants are the major problem. most of them are thieves. All because of the money they want to steal they deprive nigerians of the best service. Last saturday, i saw some coppers who were also to conduct elections in a particular area arguing over who was going to pay the Bike for the transportation of the elections materials and themselves. Some one must have been given the money for transportation but that person wants to "chop" the money. I see no reason why INEC co employed courier services such as UPS. At least india with population more than 9times that of Nigeria carried out credible elections last year.
The elections date have been shifted. Now 9, 16, 26
