My application status: IN PROCESS
Additional comment: We received your application for permanent residence on May 14, 2010.
That is all i have displayed on my E-CAS

Chief Awoderu,
I understand you sent your docs to your lawyer for onward delivery to Accra, are you sure your docs are already at Accra?

Secondly, before ecase is changed to inprocess I believed VO must have received your docs and passed eligibility checks; my fear is that may be the inprocess on our ecase is a generic error by CHC condidering that the information on ecase never mentioned that full docs was received on xxxx date....Just curious anyway!!!

Right
I submitted my full doc to Accra the same time with Awoderu. My e-case never showed received by Visa office. it is currently showing inprocess. I do hope it is not an error

I strongly feel there is something amiss though hope is error free.My e-case never showed received by Visa office. it is currently showing inprocess. I do hope it is not an error

Hello All,

Do we have any member of this forum who have not submitted full documents while ecase is showing "Inprocess"?

Majority of us that submitted in December should first wait for status change to :Rec'd by VO" before "Inprocess".

Thank you pyramid for throwing more light!

Hello everybody! i am new on this site maybe you can help me. application was submitted in 2005. got a mail from the canadian office in Ghana feb 2 2009 and they said they will start processing. pls help me on what to do, am still waiting!<<<Send an e-mail to them requesting for an update. Check your E-CAS status>>>

@ right, My application was forwarded (Courier service) on the 23rd of December, would have been sent earlier but for the notarization clarification issue. My E-Cas Never showed received by VO, right now it is currently displaying IN PROCESS with a sub detail of " we received your application May 14" and my mailing address, all of which are correct.
Why can't the Visa office inform the public on the true state of things rather than keeping us in the dark

Today is tuesday, which is a day in whcih the E-Cas is usually updated let's see what happens.

Naija peeps,

Something just cropped up in my mind, under what circumstance can a DNA test be requested?
Does provision of Birth certificate guaranty non- request for a DNA test?

The thing is that i recently collected the birth certificate for 2 of my children (a 13 year old and a 9month old).

The only way to escape DNA is to go to the hospital where the child are delivered and request for a follow-up visit record of your wife while she was pregnant, and a letter from the physician, attesting that the child was delivered in his hospital, date year and time

I understand that, sometimes when paternity is in doubt they may invite you/entire family for an interview. Trust Oyibo man, dem go look pikin face, head, nose, mouth, and even behaviour sef, whether the pikin go fall hand. If pikin call you ''Papa'', better, because any man fit be ''Daddy'', we dey see am for church and home video. :D :D
True story: My brother in-law, wanted to take his nephew along with him to Canada, the immigration officer was not too sure about the boy's paternity, because of he had provided a sworn affidavit of birth. They were all invited for an interview, and when they were all seated with the immigration officer, the lady casually asked the young man; ''Hello Fred, I hope your Uncle brought you all to Accra by air, and the boy said, yes. Again, she repeated a similar line, Okay Fred please just move over to the seat behind your Uncle, and the boy innocently obeyed. To cut short what happened afterwards, my in-law failed the interview. I am sure you all know why!!!!!.( The young man never corrected her; ''you mean my Dad?'').
Bros Awoderu, but if I may ask, do you have immunization records of your children?, I have immunization certificates for all my children, and all the vaccines given are recorded with dates, the child's name is there with DOB, parents name, etc. Also, there is usually a birth certificate issued at the hospital where the baby is born, which is usually part of the child's medical history. I believe you can provide some sort of medical history just as Seglad suggested, although this is not really a 100% proof of paternity, but it may help.
At worst, be the first to suggest a DNA test, once they begin to express doubt, you never know, the officer may just say; ''Oh never mind Mr Awdru(oyibo pronounciation), the certificate and other documents you provided would be just fine'' ;D ;D

I belief a DNA Test will clear all doubts on the part of the visa office, and unnecessary delay on your immigration process can be averted.
