2ht is seeking a software specialist on behalf of a client in the west end of Ottawa.

The required candidate must, at a minimum, be expected to perform the following:

Writing code for new features and enhancements.
Assisting in the maintenance of the existing code base.
Compiling/Debugging applications/programs.
Developing test programs.
Performing software tests.
Compiling information for and writing portions of technical reports, program documentation.
Assisting in low level design.

Responsibilities:

Perform basic software development tasks for simple systems or segments of large complex systems utilizing a standard set of software engineering standards, development tools, equipment, and technologies.

Education/Certifications Required.
Post secondary education in a computer science related program (Diploma or BSc)

Please note there is a security requirement for the position: one of the key items for this is Canadian citizenship for a minimum of 10 years.

Required Skills and Experience:

Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2003/2008 and XP development environments. (Application)
Demonstrable working knowledge in at least two of C, C++, C#, Java, PowerBuilder, XML (Application)
