Also... Ive been having conversations with my husband about culture shock. I think we get so excited that we will be reunited with our other half, but forget how difficult it might be for them to adjust. I've found some articles on culture shock. Start talking about it with your loved ones. They are going to go through a bunch of emotions... for some, they are leaving their whole life behind, everything they knew- know... families, friends... just to be with you.

Welcome newbies! You've come to the right place!

Been non stop busy...lots of babies being born which I do like because it takes my mind of the things I can't control. I don't know about you all but I'm finding that this whole thing has just consumed me lately. I'm beginning to feel like addict feening for an imm update fix. Its horrible. I've signed up for ecas tracker and still check the damn site; if hubby says he's gotta talk me, I'm like "what what??" "did you hear something?" and he's so cruel he'll just leave me hanging and then give me silly news that i don't really care about! Gosh! Someone one the other forum said there's more to life but right now I'm feeling all I want is some news! anything! I'm so tempted to call my mp but its seems as though those who've contacted their mp have ended up waiting longer? Has anyone else discovered the same trend?

Irving...wow 19 pounds...you're amazing. I lost 20lbs in 6 weeks for the wedding and I too felt like omg I lost too much. Near the end I tried to gain cause my dress was getting big and still kept losing because my metabolism was so high. I gained it all back and more after my baby and would love to loose 10 lbs. I've started zumba, step and pilates but don't have the wedding goal or any goal for the matter as motivation. Sucks! I heard of this hcg diet but I absolutely could not live on 500 cals a day. Love food too much! lol congrats on the sucess. You gotta send us pics of the new you!

smoothies queen... yes indeed it can take 16 months or longer... the longer cases are usually when there is children that are not the sponsors this causes delays....

Irving... Congrats.... and I hope you know everyone is jealous of you right now, that you're going away to get your hormones
taken care of...lol. Maybe its just me. I think I read a post from you awhile back about preparing to get preggos... Another way to prep is to take folic acid.... they tell you to take folic acid at least three months before trying... so alot of women just take prenatal vitamins... BUT ... what they should tell you is that prenatal pills dont give you enough folic acid... true story. You should be taking 4-5mcg or mg... of folic acid daily... along with b12? when you buy a folic acid supplement the b vitimin should already be in it. prenatal vitimins only give you 1mcg or mg... whatever the measurment is. I only found this out by my OB.

Ebonyshine: Girl you need to get a move on getting some kinda intervention to this process. You should have hear something by now. I think we have the same time line and my husband is picking up his passport tomm with the visa. I say contact the MP, start sending e-mail anything to make this process easier, i tell yah its not the greatest process go through and its not the length of time that kills me its the not know part that makes it horrible.

ebonyshine: This thing CONSUMES you! I eat, sleep and breathe immigration! I am obsessed and it is all i can think about and you my friend have been on this road longer than most of us so you are entitled! I agree with Sanchester though... I think you NEED to call your MP. I know you have been on this forum longer and would know if contacting an MP is viewed negatively by KNG but you need to do something. Have you ordered CAIPS notes? EVERYTIME the phone rings during business hours, my stomach turns and i'm sure it's my husband calling to tell me he got a call! It's a sickness man! Someone on the other forum said there is more to life than just immigration... and that someone probably had her husband right beside her or had just started her process a short time ago. Immigration has become our life and that and if you feel that way i don't think it needs to be validated by anyone.

Kedeisha: I think it CAN take longer if you have a child on the application that you are not sponsoring but it doesn't have to. As long as you complete the medical for the child, include all of their documentation and have a notorized letter or custody agreement as to how the child will be taken care of, I don't think it has to take any longer than ususal. I do think if you are sponsoring a child at the same time as hubby.. it will take longer.

Lilmaya...my husband mailed me his consent but geeze the postal service system in jamaica is aweful! I'm pretty sure he sent it off to me alomst a month ago now. Once i recieve I'm going to request!
