We are both very young.
I met him when i was 17 and he was 19
When we got married i was 19 and he was 21.
I am now 23 and he is 25.

I keep wondering if my 8 month stay in Philippines will be a positive thing for his visa application. It was an amazing experience for me. So much culture shock, being a ghost white Canadian girl. Haha

I keep telling him to be patient. Only panic if we see the word "denied".
Right?
I feel like he will get this visa.
He has NO criminal record and he already passed his medical exam :)
You will soon be together even before you will know it.

That's pretty incredible. We're around the same age. I am 28 and so is my wife. My opinion, and I am not a lawyer nor an immigration expert, but I believe that us being young is absolutely a major plus. You often here about the 50 year old white guy from rural Canada meeting a young 20 year old Filipina online, "falling in love" and marrying them and trying to bring them to Canada. Of course, that is where, if I were immigration, I would be studying the relationship hard. The fact that you went to the Philippines for eight months is pretty incredible and probably reasonable enough to have formed a relationship in that time. I met my wife on the last day of my four day trip in the Philippines and fell in love. However, we travelled throughout Asia together over a year and a half period before I proposed to her. Again, we are both the same age. So I don't think age is going to count against us, and is probably a plus since we're in prime working age and not a burden to the health care system.

*EDITED PORTION HERE* I had asked what province you're in but then I saw your profile and realized you're in Ontario. Yes, eight months in the Philippines and then no trips prior is probably pretty reasonable considering its expensive to fly from Ontario to PH. I am in Vancouver so its a bit cheaper to fly to Asia.

Wow that is so exciting! Congratulations. What province are you headed to or located in? I've noticed some provinces (Alberta) the decision has been made quicker than other provinces.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I'm AJ

I would just like to ask some questions. We're planning for a spousal sponsorship. My wife is in canada and we got married last feb 8, 2018.

1. do they really need the PSA marriage certificate? what we have right now is just the one from city registrar.
2. how long will the application be?
3. should we get an agency to help us in our application?

1. Yes. Ask for an endorsement letter from the Civil Registry so you get your PSA MC within a month or less.

2. It's 12 months but an average of 6-8 months gets a Decision Made.

3. No need for an agency. All the instructions and so forth are on canada.ca website plus this forum.

Hello,
July applicant here, still waiting for a DM. Anyone on same boat as me? Last email we got from them was dec. 9,17 a pre arrival invitation.

Thanks,

Only a copy of your passport should be included in the application to be filed. You only send your passport upon request from MVO whenever it may be. Hopefully the app will be approved in less than 12 months.
