Hi bushgirl,

Its a horrible news, the biological father did not sign the form. He is insisting WHY HE NEEDS TO SIGN THE FORM, THE CHILD'S LAST NAME IS ALREADY CHANGED TO HER MOTHER'S NAME SO WHY HE NEEDS TO SIGN IT, FOR WHAT???? I don't know what to do to help my wife, 30 days is running..

Consult a Lawyer for that matter. Write a letter address to cic about what happened when you tried to asked for the signature. You can try getting a sworn statement from close relatives of the bio father stating what also happened.

I hope it would help and not too late.

Hi Karla and Shemah,

After AOR2 usually the next you will wait for will be PPR or request for additional docs (only if the application is incomplete) This will probably be the longest part of the application cause this is where the case managers will do their background checks on the applicant. Right now I'm seeing a delay on CIC's side for Sept 2015 applicants or later based on what I see on this thread and on the facebook group of 2015 applicants. If you really want to see which stage you are in then I suggest requesting for GCMS notes, likely you'll see evaluations done by the case managers on your application. Though if you feel that your application is "routine" which means nothing unusual for case managers to look into, then probably just wait it out. I remember December and January were slow months for PPR's likely due to the holidays. The past month was slow as well likely because of summer vacation there in Manila and college break here in Canada. There should be more activity in terms of passport requests soon though and when it does there will be a lot. There were a lot of PPR's last February.

Just be a bit more patient. Your passports will be requested in no time.

Good day everyone. Im just new here, my girlfriend and I are planning to get married this July. I have some concerns prior to completing our application. I am planning to send the application this September.

1. Her passport will expire on May 2016, ano po ang mas magandang gawin, i renew na yung passport before application or isend na yung application and then update the CIC regarding passport renewal?

2. If we are going to renew her passport, the earliest appointment we could get is Aug 2016 pa. Ang concern ko ay: pag kinasal kami ng july, (months ang hihintayin for nso marriage cert which is requirement to change name & status) pag nirenew namin yung passport nya, which is august, single and maiden name nya pa din yung nakalagay sa passport nya dahil wala pa kaming copy ng nso marriage certificate. May kaso po ba yung maiden name at status sa passport, kasi baka makita ng CIC na we got married on july but nung nagrenew ng passport ay di binago yung surname at status nya?

I am staying in the Philiipines for just one month so we aim to finish everything on that timespan. Then as soon as I get back here in Canada isesend ko na yung application namin. Salamat po sa makakasagot ng mga tanong ko. God bless us all sa ating application.

Hey buddy, we have the same situation except sa passport. tanong ko lang kung meron kang alam para ma expedite ang marriage certificate galing NSO kasi kami the May so one month lang dn ako sa pinas, we are both overseas my fiance is in canada and im in Qatar.

I just got married so baka makatulong ang mga experience ko for your case.

TIPS:

1. FOR NSO Marriage certificate, hindi kailangan maghintay ng months. How? Yung sa amin narelease in two weeks.

2. Kung gusto nyo makapag-apply ng sponsorship ASAP (after your wedding), use her maiden name. Hindi required na baguhin agad ang surname after marriage...unless gusto nyo. I applied for my husband's sponsorship using my maiden name. Wala naman problema if maiden name nya ang gamitin nyo sa application.

Goodluck!
