I just got an email from the Manila Visa Office about our application ...

"Dear Applicant,

This refers to your application for permanent residence in Canada.

You submitted photos which do not meet our current standard specifications. In order for our office to issue your visa(s) and/or Confirmation of Permanent Resident form(s), you must submit two (2) photos of yourself and of each accompanying family member respecting precise specifications that can be found at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf.

The required photos must be submitted thru the Visa Application Centre (VAC). Find a VAC in your area at http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/.

The issuance of your visa(s) and/or Confirmation of Permanent Resident form(s) is time sensitive so it is important for you to submit your correct photos within 15 days from the date of this letter. Failure to comply within the given timeframe will lead to a delay in the processing of your application.

Sincerely,

Permanent Resident Unit "

We are currently in Canada... it says we must submit the photos through the Visa Application Center... but none are listed for Canada? How can we send the Manila visa office photos from Canada ?

does anyone have any experience with this?

Thank you!
[cant you send it thru Fedex or other courier company?]

Another part that confuses me is which VAC to send it to.

My spouse is Japanese and is currently living in Japan but her application is being processed in Manila. Does that mean she sends the photos over to Manila? Or does she send them to Japan?

The e-mail says to find a VAC "in your area". Does that mean the "area" that my spouse lives in or the "area" that the application is being processed in?

My spouse and I have gone through some Japanese forums and they've also received word from CIC about providing pictures, but they are also confused regarding which VAC they should send it to.

CIC is so horrible with correspondence, and after reviewing a few things, it seems as though the photo specifications changed without any word or notification. We sent the application in last June and it seems as though specifications changed in January or April (The picture specification document CIC just sent has the date 04/01/16). Needless to say, I'm pretty annoyed, but there's nothing we can really do.

Hi again xabibella,

You mentioned you sent your passport to VFS makati? were you in US when you sent it? what was your residential and mailing address before receiving the PPR?

I just sent out the additional docs that they requested, I am hoping that after this they will give me a good news.

Thanks
Yes I was in the US when I sent it. I express mailed my passport and immigration photos to my relative in Manila along with an authorization form and my state ID and he brought it personally to VFS Makati. The residential and mailing address I put on my forms is my address here in the US but when my relative submitted my documents, he opted to have the passport for pick up, instead of courier delivery. So when I received the "passport is dispatched/ready for pick up" email, he went there and picked up my COPR and passport. Coincidentally, my aunt was coming to visit me here in the US in the same week so she brought my documents with her when she came :)

The email you received should tell you where to send it.

When I received my Appendix A email a few months ago with the request for immigration photos, they gave me 2 options where to send it:

1. to the Visa Application Center (with the link http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/Philippines/index.html)

or 2. by courier to the Manila VO address at:

Embassy of Canada, Visa Section
Level 6, Tower 2, RCBC Plaza
6819 Ayala Avenue
Makati City 1226
Philippines

I sent them by express FedEx from here in the US to the Manila VO Address on a Friday and it cost me about 60$ but they received it Monday of so I didn't mind the price too much. I'm not sure if you can send your requested documents to any VACs (technically the one nearest to me was Mexico VAC) but I thought it made more sense to send it to the one in Manila.

I get what you mean with the pictures. I sent about 3 batches already (6 pictures each) not including the ones I sent with our original application. The last one with the new photo specifications (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/pdf/5445EB-e.pdf) was requested along with my passport in March 29 2016. YMMV, but I'm from the Philippines currently living in the US and I sent the pictures + passport to the VAC in the Philippines (Makati office to be exact) since that's where my application was being processed. (Technically the nearest VAC to me was the one in Mexico). I got the tracking on my application and they emailed me when they "dispatched it to Manila VO for processing" on the same day Makati VAC received my passport so I'm assuming sending it there will save up some time on them sending it to Manila VO.

You can try calling/emailing the VACs in Manila or Japan http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/ (the live chat option didn't work for me even when it was office hours). They got back to me with the info within 24 hours.

I landed 2013 and went back to Manila after 2 weeks to fulfill an employment contract and also got married after a year. My PR card arrived 3mos after I landed in Canada and my brother brought it to Manila for me.

Even though they never gave me this address do you think its alright if I send it there because there is no VAC in Canada?

Hello!

I was asked to provide a police certificate from another country (which I was able to acquire just recently) since I lived there for more than 6 months. No other additional documents were asked to be submitted, well, for now at least.

After this, what happens next to our application, and how long will it take to hear from the Visa Office again?

Thank you.

Varibale. Depende sa status ng application mo kung may red flags (longer can be several weeks to months) or wala ( couple of weeks to 1 month)

Did anyone posted about the processing times on CIC site recently?

We are now down to 13months from the 17months processing time! AMAZING! I know na madaming natatapos in less than a year pero it's a big help na even ang CIC ni-reduced na ang maximum processing time and it's even country specific now. HURRAY! Smiley

Yes you can send it to the address given above. I did the same thing in 2014 for my son who was already in Canada. :)
