Thanks!
I asked my friend who's doing her husband's sponsorship too and she told me if we do not have any conjugal property or joint account or anything that we have shared under our names, we have to request an Affidavit from the lawyer witnessed by two people that will prove that our relationship is true.
We don't have anything that we share because we are just boyfriend and girlfriends back then and it never crossed our minds to have those ones.
Did you do this part? thank you!
Anna
No affidavits and we don't have any conjugal property or joint accounts either. Our relationship isn't what you would call "traditional"- My husband and I met online, and we didn't meet in person until a year and a half later. He stayed for a month on his first visit but before he left, we decided that we were going to get married the next time we see each other (which was 4 months later - at this point we were crazy for each other and had the rest of our life planned out already lol) We got married in the city hall with only his sibling (on his side) and my parents and a couple of friends (on my side) in attendance. We didn't have testimonials from friends or relatives but we did have our personal essay which explained in our own words how we met/fell in love/what our plans are/etc. from our point of view. I guess we were pretty convincing haha
Some of the relationship evidence I included:
- scans of receipts of our gifts/packages we sent to each other (about 1 or 2 every other month)
- scans of handwritten letters (for Christmas, birthdays, etc)
- gaming logs from our 3 most played games online that has date/time stamps
- snippets of chat logs from a random day for every month since we started dating (we use a private chat app for couples so it was easy to sort out but it was still a lot of chat logs. To make it easier for the visa officer, I had an index page that has a summary for every date + page numbers)
- screenshots of video call history from Skype (only the recent 3 months since I had to get a new phone right before I started doing our application)
- receipts from restaurants that we went to along with pictures (lots of selfies but also a bunch with friends and family)
- pictures from trips we went to (out of state trips, family events, etc)
- scans of tickets for events that we went to (movies, conventions, etc)
- screenshot from facebook of our family/friends' posts and comments on our wall from friends/relatives congratulating us on our wedding
- pictures from our wedding and reception (nothing fancy, I just asked my family for pictures from their phone)
