lmia is 600 points .. they are not changing that . They are just adding 50 points and 200 points for arranged employment

If you read clearly it says
As of November 19, there will be "new ways " of being awarded either 50 or 200 points without the need to obtain a LMIA "(though points will continue to be awarded to individuals with a new or existing LMIA)."

I guess I am right

Trust me LMIA does not require more points. Your assumption is wrong. Please read again!

You only get 200 if your LMIA job is in NOC 00. Otherwise, you only get 50 points for NOC A or B.

You are mistaken,

29 (1) Six hundred points may be assigned to a foreign national if they have a qualifying offer of arranged employment.

Has been amended to:

29 (1) If a foreign national has a qualifying offer of arranged employment, they may be assigned points as follows:

(a) 200 points, if the offer is for employment in an occupation contained in Major Group 00 of the National Occupation Classification; or
(b) 50 points, if the offer is any other qualifying offer of arranged employment.

Cheers ;)

You are not right.
Sections 29 to 34 of the Instructions are replaced by the following:

Points for qualifying offer of arranged employment
29 (1) If a foreign national has a qualifying offer of arranged employment, they may be assigned points as follows:

(a) 200 points, if the offer is for employment in an occupation contained in Major Group 00 of the National Occupation Classification; or
(b) 50 points, if the offer is any other qualifying offer of arranged employment.

Re: New Express Entry ranking system will be applied in Nov 19th (detail inside!)

Do we know what would be the offset? reduced numbers of LMIA approved jobs vs increased number of international students in the CRS draw?????

Re: New Express Entry ranking system will be applied in Nov 19th (detail inside!)

At 461 since March with 1 year of CWE and a 1 year Post-graduate certificate in project management from Humber, Hope my new score is 476!! Fingers crossed, do let me know if you think i qualify for 15 points...

Re: New Express Entry ranking system will be applied in Nov 19th (detail inside!)

This really will just make the low core human capital applicants with 200-300 CRS not jump ahead of everyone with 600 pts LMIA

Now the 200-300 people will just jump to 400-500, and aren't automatically gauranteed an ITA.

This is good.

Re: New Express Entry ranking system will be applied in Nov 19th (detail inside!)

Why is the date shown as 12th November 2016 while it is only the 10th of November 2016?

Re: New Express Entry ranking system will be applied in Nov 19th (detail inside!)

cicnews.com/2016/11/canada-outlines-significant-changes-comprehensive-ranking-system-crs-express-entry-immigration-118652.html

a section from the above site says:

The significant changes to job offers are:

A qualifying job offer is now worth 200 points if the offer is in an occupation contained in Major Group 00 of the National Occupational Classification.
A qualifying job offer is now worth 50 points if the offer is any other qualifying offer of arranged employment.

Previously, qualifying job offers supported by a Labour Market Impact Assessment were worth 600 points under the CRS. As of November 19, there will be new ways of being awarded either 50 or 200 points without the need to obtain a LMIA (though points will continue to be awarded to individuals with a new or existing LMIA). The new regulations also allow the following individuals to be awarded points for a qualifying job offer:

Individuals with a work permit issued under an international agreement, such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
Individuals with a work permit issued under the ‘significant benefits to Canada’ criteria, such as Intra-Company Transfers.

Does this mean LMIA is not actually needed ?

Re: New Express Entry ranking system will be applied in Nov 19th (detail inside!)

I think the information from cicnews is misleading. Please read the original notification and judge for yourself regarding LMIA.

Re: New Express Entry ranking system will be applied in Nov 19th (detail inside!)

Does job offer need to be supported by LMIA in the new policy?

Here is a quote that I found

As of November 19, there will be new ways of being awarded either 50 or 200 points without the need to obtain a LMIA (though points will continue to be awarded to individuals with a new or existing LMIA).

Re: New Express Entry ranking system will be applied in Nov 19th (detail inside!)

Hey All,
I have a question, will this changes will affect new applicants and the ones that are already in the EE pool or it will also affect those who already got their ITA but haven't apply yet.

Thanks
