That was no agreement. The scores went down to 451 once and only once and that was a year and a half ago. Hard to understand how one figures that will ever happen again, especially with immigration becoming more and more popular.kryt0n said:That was a fact... didn't need an agreement...
But the person just asked when they dropped and I answered... I didn't say it was definitely going to happen again any time soon...aircanada said:That was no agreement. Fair enough but before that you said: "The points have already dropped to 450 and are likely to drop again soon."kryt0n said:But the person just asked when they dropped and I answered... I didn't say it was definitely going to happen again any time soon...
I think the points will drop as 44% of the ITAs went to people with LMIA, which are now worth 550 points less (not really considering the 00XX NOCs as those are very rare)... So if you think that 44% of applicants had +600 points and now will have only +50 we should see a drop. But it's impossible to predict by how much, so let's just wait and see ;Daircanada said:Fair enough but before that you said: "The points have already dropped to 450 and are likely to drop again soon."
Yea dude, likely but not 100% I mean, I'm at 440...all I have is hope!aircanada said:Fair enough but before that you said: "The points have already dropped to 450 and are likely to drop again soon."
Can't you do a 1-year masters in Canada and rack up points instead of waiting?kryt0n said:Yea dude, likely but not 100% I mean, I'm at 440...all I have is hope!
It's definitely under discussion now. Until recently we were living in other countries travelling. Now we are back in the UK. Put simply, we don't have the cash for itand being 30 and my boyfriend 33, we are very much "out on our own" in terms of family financial aid.aircanada said:Can't you do a 1-year masters in Canada and rack up points instead of waiting?
Why have you not taken the IELTS sooner? as a native English speaker, you can easily get clb 9 or 10, and get an ITA with 471.kryt0n said:It's definitely under discussion now. Retaking IELTS soon so hoping for a points boost to 471. Will get another year or work experience in July too although with the increased IELTS score it might not come to that
Ah, so took them Jan 2015. CLB 10 in reading, writing and speaking. Only CLB 8 (IELTS 7.5) in listening as we took the test 5 days after our lmia was denied and a week before we left Canada so I was mess (lucky to get so high in the others tbh). Then I was in 6 months of therapy about it all and in no state to take it again. Then we travelled Asia for 6 months. Now we have been back in the uK long enough to have enough cash to make sure we have the minimum funds and to retake IELTS as often as possible. I also had no idea just how close I was to those extra points until a few months ago! That's how broken i was! So lots of hope nowAlexios07 said:Why have you not taken the IELTS sooner? as a native English speaker, you can easily get clb 9 or 10, and get an ITA with 471.
Seems like even a Queen's English speaker still got messed up by the Listening test. For me, the IELTS listening test is more like a trick test than an actual skill test.kryt0n said:Ah, so took them Jan 2015. CLB 10 in reading, writing and speaking.
