Not sure if this will be of much help to everyone in waiting, but I wanted to share the info we found in my spouse's GCMS notes. We requested the notes after PA landing last month and received it today.

To recap, we are August 15, 2017 applicants, Pre-arrival&DM - 21-June, 2018 Canada time and Passport request sent on 25-June-2018, all details in signature.

The file was untouched/unassigned as of June 4, 2018(per previous GCMS Notes).

File reviewed for PA eligibility on June 13, 2018 by an officer (probably a junior one) and Eligibility set to Recommend Passed.
File Reviewed and PA ligibility on June 20, 2018 (by a senior officer) and Eligibility set to Passed along with update to Security (hidden).

Location is set to New Delhi for both. It appears to me that the one week wait is for the final review for the officer before requesting passport.

All the emails we sent them to inform about PA's visit or change in contact address etc were reviewed only when the file was reviewed by the officers.

The notes section doesn't have much info how they concluded the eligibility just the standard - wedding done with traditional norms, photos, communications provided(well we gave 12 yrs data), PA visited sponsor, PA's family info and visitor visa issued in 2016 etc. (i.e 1 year before wedding). Officer has also mentioned about PA's latest visit in June 2018 and about our summer vacation plans we sent them.

We sent them as much communication details and pictures we had that shows our relationship history/timeline. Plus letters from friends in Canada & India who has met my spouse before the wedding along with pictures. We thought it is over kill to send more than 20 pictures, but we had a long history so we decided to send as much as we can.

Hope this helps with anyone waiting to hear back.

Hello All,
I applied for my wife (PA) in january 2018, PA visa office is NDVO.
After applying for my wife(PA), I (Sponsor) visited her for her birthday in India for three weeks.
Should i tell this information to CIC. If yes, how can i inform CIC? and what impact it has on the file?

I went to India to visit my wife after I applied her spouse PR visa but I didn't let IRCC know about it and my application is on the last edge now. So I don't think if its mandatory as specially in my case they didn't care neither me.

Hi everyone. I’m a June 6, 2017 applicant and received the prearrival letter in May 2018 but our application is still pending (full timeline at bottom of msg). We did MP inquiry after the 1 year mark and were told that they have everything they need and everything on the file is passed except security which started on May 16, 2018 and it’s still pending - they told us all we can do is wait. I don’t know why it’s taking so long for the security - does anybody know how I can escalate this? The MPs office has been providing updates to us every 4 weeks but not sure what else I can do to make things happen faster since it’s been 3.5 months since security started. It’s getting pretty ridiculous considering our application was very straight forward and we patiently waited the 12 months and now this.

@Mrdi-khsta @raul_sk @Billu_PB @taraana @GipNav @Dania2125 @manbrar @pnoor101 are ur applications still pending? Based on the msgs in this forum it seemed like ur applications were past the 1 year mark too and I’m wondering if it’s also stuck in security? @upkar singh do u have any advice?

We’re thinking of applying for an open work permit so we can at least be together while our application gets finalized. Does anybody know the processing time for this? I couldn’t find it online.

Any advice would help. Thanks in advance.
Ps sorry for the long post!
