My application reached Delhi VO on 4th Sep 2017 and till now I have no update.
May I know when should I expect PPR ?
It is just showing BCG progress..

Anyway to contact them ?

we are Processing your BCG; and BCG status of "application is in progress" are two different things. Please clarify what you mean by Bcg is "in Progress?" @NewWorld

how much time does it take for an inland applicant to get work permit? and is it not a problem getting married to a person on visitor visa?

I said do not register your marriage in India (so this means when you apply for visitor visa, You are not married officially)
You are considered married once you register your marriage. (traditional marriages doesn't stand, that's y all those daily TV soaps gets their lead actress married 10-10 times in the same daily soap)

when they ask for relationship proof, photos, and other essential proof in showing a genuine relationship- this suggestion of yours could hamper their spousal sponsorship. I suggest to the poster here, please be genuine and go through the process genuinely and accordingly. It is better to wait a longer time to get the PR then be put in a queue to be interviewed for genuineness of relationship. Always choose the right way no matter the wait! 2. Photos of dinners, outings
3. Biggest ever proof (they live together, plenty of proofs of living together)

why do we people are afraid of interviews when everything we do is legal and genuine?
as far as the relationship is genuine, nothing can hamper their application.

1. Apply for his Visitor Visa (most crucial, if he cannot get visa there is no way that he can come early)
2. Get married in Feb 2018 but do not register your marriage (just traditions and rituals).
3. Let him come here in Canada and then register your marriage in Canada
4. Apply to sponsor him as inland applicant and with that attach application for work permit (only inland applicants can get work permit).

Benefits = stay together while application is in process + he can work while his application is in process + least processing time (mississauga visa office and nothing to do with NDVO)

I wish if I could done that But here is trap they need to get vistor visa atleast a day before marriage. Otherwise things might get worst later on !!

My suggestion will be, try to get visitor visa before marriage and then register your marriage in India as a normal process. Then you both guys have to update your CIC profile to married. And then go by normal process.
In this case he/she will have visitor visa to visit, while sponsorship in process.

Could apply for her visitor visa as she was completing her internship and thought our application wud have been completed by december wen she finishes her internship.
and now its too late to apply as we are too close to get it done so dont want to face a rejection.

First of all, @shoi 's spouse must be in Canada for a longer time to accumulate the proofs you are saying here, therefore, that would encounter to registering marriage after at a longer interval of time after arriving to Canada, which means the spousal process would also start after a longer time, and the work-permit would also then take its time. A genuine relationship of a person who is in TRV would not be living together, taking photos, and then bam ... a wedding. Indian marriages are questioned every time there are no proofs of traditional customs and rituals, which we have seen here at this forum many times. When they are married and genuine in the first place, why make them do something that is not GENUINE!. @shoi please be sensible and consider what is important to you!

Nope, I agree that what use to happen in past, but I have several people who dont really have the proofs you are asking of.

Even me, my wife's application is still in process, i was only able to go for 7 days (that includes travelling of around 48 hours) which means I did had only 5 days for my marriage.

Besides, I had similar information but my friend was in similar situation as mine and as a matter of fact he just has a court marraige bcoz of his financial situations and his wife is in canada and they are happily living in Edmonton, AB.

I am new to this thread and I am not sure if this is a correct thread to answer my query but it seemed most relevant one.

I have moved to Canada with PR under express entry last year Oct 2017 from Delhi, India. Started looking for jobs and got one in downtown Toronto in November and earning good. Received my PR card in first week of December 2017.

I am now getting married in feb, 2018 last week and the guy is in Delhi, India. I have been reading about spousal sponsorships online and the processing time seems to be 12 months minimum.

Is there any other way he can come and work in Canada earlier than this? Can he apply for open work permit before getting married? Can someone please guide me. Its urgent.

@shoi - I would say applying for a visitor visa and getting it approved before your wedding would be best option. After that you can chose to apply either Inland or Outland. There are pro's and cons to inland vs outland.

Inland - you can stay together and spouse will get a open WP after 3-4 months of submission to CPC - that is possible only if he has a visitor visa and enter canada before you submit the pr application. The app will be processed by Missisuaga and takes avg. 12 months. On the downside, you can't leave canada during the Inland processing and there is no appeal process.

Outland- You will be processed at final stage by NDVO (relationship assessment etc.) and PR visa will be issued. Avg is 12 months right now and most cases here are getting it done around 9-12 months. If you are a PR you can travel to see your spouse for 2-3 weeks. If you fiance gets visitor visa approved, he can visit (not work) during the processing.

I was in your shoes just last May and I asked my lawyer (she is one of the best in BC) - she adviced me to go though the Outland route, primarily for 2 reasons I mentioned on inland downside. We filed in Aug 2017 and we are waiting in Q. My spouse visited me in canada for about 4 weeks during Dec holidays and no issues.

You can think about plus and minus on both routes and decide what's best for you. But a visitor visa app before wedding (add proofs to make your case for approval of the TRV) will certainly help during this long process.
