A COPR (Confirmation of Permanent resident) is a long legal size paper that contains details of principal applicant (name, dob, citizenship, place of birth, passport details, spouse name etc) also it has space for observations, dependants, etc.Submitted to VFS delhi on 15th Jan.

Hey! Can you confirm the documents required at the time of landing ?Wife is arriving today! Cant begin to explain the feeling.
But I just want to advise everyone: if you want to get through this process with less stress, try not to build pre-determined expectations and hopes that your file will be processed within a certain timeframe just because other files are being processed. Trust me, I applied this very early on in our process and it sure does help. By setting a certain expectation of hearing back from the visa office in a certain month, you are digging your own hole because if you don't hear back, you get shattered and begin to lose hope. No one can determine or find out how our files are actually processed so i would suggest to just let things happen. Its easier said than done, but if you try, it will surely help. I wish everyone unites with their significant others very soon.
Thanks for the info!A COPR (Confirmation of Permanent resident) is a long legal size paper that contains details of principal applicant (name, dob, citizenship, place of birth, passport details, spouse name etc) also it has space for observations, dependants, etc.
there are 2 copies of COPR that comes with passport and YOU NEED TO TAKE BOTH OF THEM (one is is for the immigration officer at a canadian airport and the 2nd one is for us but officer with stamp and sign at airport)
besides this, COPR is then the most important document for the rest of your life which u will need to apply for citizenship, etc.
I dont remember exactly but i think it also has a photograph of the principal applicant
Thanks for the info!
Have you already landed ? Are you sure COPR comes with passport once stamped ??
My wifes sponsorship is still in process, but I just got permanent resident last year. Thanks for the info!

1. Apply for his Visitor Visa (most crucial, if he cannot get visa there is no way that he can come early)I am new to this thread and I am not sure if this is a correct thread to answer my query but it seemed most relevant one.
I have moved to Canada with PR under express entry last year Oct 2017 from Delhi, India. Started looking for jobs and got one in downtown Toronto in November and earning good. Received my PR card in first week of December 2017.
I am now getting married in feb, 2018 last week and the guy is in Delhi, India. I have reading about spousal sponsorships online and the processing time seems to be 12 weeks minimum.
Is there any other way he can come and work in Canada earlier than this? Can he apply for open work permit before getting married? Can someone please guide me. Its urgent.
Thanks a lot for the info. will read more about it.1. Apply for his Visitor Visa (most crucial, if he cannot get visa there is no way that he can come early)
2. Get married in Feb 2018 but do not register your marriage (just traditions and rituals).
3. Let him come here in Canada and then register your marriage in Canada
4. Apply to sponsor him as inland applicant and with that attach application for work permit (only inland applicants can get work permit).
Benefits = stay together while application is in process + he can work while his application is in process + least processing time (mississauga visa office and nothing to do with NDVO)
That's absolutely normal; we have lots of May applicants with AOR2 of July and August and we have not heard anything from them yet! Chances are you will have to wait at least 2-3 months still to hear from them; From the current trend, it looks like they are currently dealing with backlog and April applicants; July applicants recently got an email from NDVO saying that they will be in contact with the July applicants in May or June--> given that you are a June applicant, they should most likely be in contact with you in April/May; Your BCG says: your application is in progress or your background check is in process? - that is two different things- please clarify. My application reached Delhi VO on 4th Sep 2017 and till now I have no update.
May I know when should I expect PPR ?
It is just showing BCG progress..
Anyway to contact them ?
Actually the previous poster provided you wrong information regarding the inland application timeline. Before Dec. 2016, inland application was processed longer than outland application, for most cases. After Dec. 2016, IRCC implemented a new system, which they are working towards the 12 months target for 80% of all cases, for both inland and outland cases. Thanks a lot for the info. will read more about it.
how much time does it take for an inland applicant to get work permit? and is it not a problem getting married to a person on visitor visa?
even a straight forward case does not get 6-8 months processing time. It's now 9-12 months for NDVO at this time beingActually the previous poster provided you wrong information regarding the inland application timeline. So, if your husband can get a TRV and come to Canada, and you file inland application, you are probably looking at 6-8 months for a straight forward case (same applies to outland), and 12 months or more, if your case should have some complications associated with.
