You put Canada if the sponsor is inside Canada. India if the sponsor is also living outside Canada. Since I'm in Canada and hubby is in a india it's Canada and since me the sponsor applied through CPC in Canada. The applicant country no longer matters as they can process around the global network.... supposedly.... according to CIC website.

you know why i said thank you. cus i was thinking that its 18 months in worse case.. but yay its 12 cus my husband sent all our submisison to CPC missisuaga.

I applied for my spouse on 22 May, 2016. Waiting eagerly for BGC.

Hey
Its not going to take 12 months.. its jus the timeline after which we can directly contcact cic for our case proceedings. Cus before this they nod their heads and turn a deaf ear.

After april applicants getting through and 2 of our may applicants with bgc and ppr .. its showtime.
I hope max of a month fr us all.

Hope they clear a big chunk before the christmas holidays.

We all want to be united wid our spouses before our anniversaries.

PS We are 25th may applicants :)
With no process started as per Gcms received last week.
:/

Okay guys... May application here , Background check went in progress either today or yesterday

But there is a problem, medical expires in January and we can't travel in January. Has anyone tried requesting to have the visa expire on a later date.

If we do complete re-medical in the next few days (Holiday where spouse is right now) will it work? does the visa office look at the new medical?

Congratulations! What is your timeline?

They may ask you for a re-medical if your BGC takes longer and they choose not to extend your medicals.... it's a tricky situation! If you ask for an extension, it may delay your process and put you back in line until they decide to re-open your file next.

My suggestion is to wait for the BG process to get done, and then take a call on whether to write back to them asking if medicals can be extended by a month or two -- and if you can submit a new medical as you can't travel in January (lay out your reasons clearly). It is still a risk as they may just delay your whole process if they are not convinced. Are you sure you cannot fly to Canada in January?

Others may have a better suggestion, I honestly wouldn't delay the process at all unless there are very cogent, non negotiable reasons for not landing in Canada before your COPR expires.

Hey congrats. Please let us know your date of application and province of application.

What i suggest is u should not send remedical on your own. Let them send ppr. They wud surely ask for a remedical before ppr as seen in many of the cases.
