Yes - submitted on May 23, received on May 26.

My wife did. Submitted on 12th, came back on 17th, collected from VFS on 23rd May.

Thanks for reply guys,,,,I have submitted passport on 11th april for visitors visa and in meantime got PPR on 9th May......still waiting for passport to come back....

Are you able to check status on VFS? Maybe give them a call.

yeah, I did..they said they will let us knw when the passport will arrive....did email and case specific inquiry for no answer....

On vfs status its just says that Visa application, tracking ID No.xxx is being processed at the Canada Visa Office, NEW DELHI.To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website.

I actually applied in February 2016 and my file is in Delhi since March and they started processing in apr 04 2016 I got everything from here but nothing from Delhi so I was jus concerned that should I send a inquiry or jus wait

Hello. Question for you all. Once passport is requested to be sent to New Delhi how long do they take to send it back? My husband is the one being sponsored. He is working in Qatar at the moment. If they ask him to send his passport does he need to go to New Delhi? Or can he send it from Qatar? If he sends its from Qatar won't he have problems if New Delhi takes to long? Would be stuck in a country without his passport. What do you all so? Please help

@taniam00 New Delhi takes about a week to send the passport back. He either needs to go to delhi or send the passport through someone personally travelling to India with letter of authority. That person then needs to send it through vfs. The passport shall be returned to a mailing address in India.

It is really not advisable to send the passport through courier from Qatar (passport cannot cross borders like this)

He cannot send the passport to New Delhi. The only way to send the passport to NDVO is through VFS (in India or Nepal). VFS will accept the passport only in person. Either your husband has to submit his passport by himself or authorize someone else (by a letter) to submit on his behalf. When the passport comes back, again either your husband or someone else who is authorized, has to collect in person from the VFS office. VFS office also has an option to mail the passport back to an Indian address. This is generally how it works when the applicant is in India or in Nepal.

I am not very sure how it works if the applicant is not in India or Canada but some other country. Does your husband already has PPR and does it say to submit at VFS in India or Nepal? You can also try calling VFS in Qatar to check if they can send it to NDVO or VFS in India. Or if your husband already has PPR, try writing an email to NDVO and check if he has an option to get the visa stamped at Abu Dhabi VO. In worst case, your husband should be prepared to travel to India.

Hi. My husband hasn't heard back about anything. We just applied. I was asking to know in the future. If my husband has to go to India how long does he need to tell his employer that he won't be at work for? And what is vfs?

It'll take around a week to send the passport to NDVO and get it back.
