Noone can predict that but as per the trend it is between 8-10 mobths in general but some lucky ones have got ppr as short as in 3 months..
saw 3-4 cases got approved in just 3-4 months. . is there any criteria which NDVO approves faster than normal.
please advise.

It's basically depends upon the how straightforward your case is. But nobody knows what is the criteria for the straightforward case..understanding the gcms notes I can make out that one officer in Mississauga first review our file and they point out if their is any red flags like previous attempt for immigration then one officer at ndvo review our file when it arrives at ndvo if he finds anything alarming he put comment like review needed if he is satisfied he put comment pass and forwarded to his Senior officer ...so I think it basically what the officer at Mississauga and the officer who first review the file when it arrives to ndvo thinks about our case..its all on their discrimination to take judgement on our application is straightforward or not..

Actually the official estimated time by CIC is 13 Months. This is because if the sponsor is INSIDE Canda, and not living in India with the applicant, then the application was submitted IN CANDA, not India (because it's the sponsor who submits the application in entirety and not the applicant. Also, the specific office no longer matters as the applications can be moved around the global network now, to help expedite processing, in an ideal world). So when you go to the estimate page its asking the SPONSOR the questions: Who did you sponsor (family class, spouse living OUTSIDE CANADA) and where did YOU (the sponsor) apply (IN CANADA). The estimate is 13 months, not 18. It takes longer if the sponsor is also living in India outside Canada, because then the sponsor's application also has to be processed through the ridiculously slow NDVO (Canadian Consulate in India) instead of through Case Processing Centre in Ontario.

15 January applicant here, with absolutely NO update since 21 March when NDVO received my husband's application. I got SA 12 March. The file has not been touched at all since NDVO got it. I guess they figure people who applied in March and April are in more of a hurry to get theirs so they have been ignoring Jan-Feb applicants. (sarcasm, but not really).

All sponsors file will be processed in Mississauga and then file is transferred to country of origin. So if applicant is from India it will be transferred to NDVO and processing time will be from India i.e 18 months and not from Canada. If someone is from Philippines Sponsor will submit their file is in Mississauga but processing time will be as per Philippines not Canada. This is very simple to understand

Hey Harkiran,

I do happen to agree with your explanation, but if you look deeper into it, you find a lot of holes. CIC calculated the average time based on the time it takes for 80 percent of submitted applications to reach completion, there is an additional 20percent, which they do not account for since those applications are deemed problematic and can go in excess of 2 years. There's is a lot that we don't know here, 13 or 18 months it is just a number CIC has on their page, what it means, no one can really understand. By removing Visa office specific time frame, CIC gives an average time, how that's calculated now, is anyone's guess..

You are still a citizen of india, even though you are born in dubai. Abu dhabi office is only for people with UAE passport, in other words, emiratis .Therefore, it'll be sent to the country of your nationality

Hope that answers the question

Call Manulife or Sunlife, i heard they have some good plans for visitors. Its better to buy Insurance from India and come and its much cheaper.

Would have been nice, if they done it with the country of residence and not citizenship

That may not be a good option in case he actually needs to use the insurance. Taking insurance from a non-Canadian provider may force him to pay all costs upfront in Canada and claim reimbursement of bills from his Indian insurance company, which in my opinion is quite painful (and rarely do companies reimburse in full). Although, everything depends on the cost and the level of risk he is willing to take.
