if you guys see in 2015 applicant, multiple people who applied in Feb2015 have finished the interview.
I think we are the most unlucky one. We have worst of both govts.
Make an inquiry with your MP asking why 2015 applicants are given priority over 2014 applicants.
Even one with interview recommended 2015 applicant are given over 2014 applicants. This is not fair by any standards.
There are only few 2014 applicant left. So you need to help yourself.

it's really unfortunate you are right. i asked that to my MP about why are 2015 getting dates before the 2014 candidates and her reply was " it's case specific" - apparently that's all NDVO tells them. who knows how true it is.

can someone clarify this 17 months thing? is it 17 months after NDVO gets the file or from the date of application i.e. when Mississauga gets the file? if a senior can help please. it'll just clear out some confusions

If your MP calls NDVO, they say 17months from when they get the file. On the website, it says 17months including 2months for Sponsorship. This is such BS from NDVO i believe to cover their A$$! CIC website cannot be wrong because they update it every friggen WEEK! NDVO are bunch of theives! need to be fired for being inhumane.

When we initially applied. It was 17 months from NDVO PLUS 2 months for Sponsorship approval in Mississauga.

For the new applicants it is 17 months in total (because their files will be shared with other lightly loaded immigration offices unlike ours.

When i applied, I believe it was 12 + 2 months or 14 + 2 months.

i think you are right because when i applied my lawyer said it was 17 months from the time the file got in NDVO's hands unlike the situation now which is so unfair but we can't control it so dont know what to say. it's very very frustrating i agree. according to the old rule then, my 17 months is complete end of April. they better give me a date for interview before that gosh :(
God help us 2014 applicants!

I am Dec 2014 applicant, interview waiver but still keep in cold storage by NDVO.
I applied for visitor visa in Jan2016 at Bangalore but was rejected for no sufficient ties and travel history.
I am again planning to apply for visitor visa with MP support Letter.
This time can I apply at NDVO online or should I apply at Bangalore Office only?
I want to apply at NDVO because my spousal sponsorship application is in final stage in NDVO.
Please suggest.

HI guys,

MP was not helpful to us.Yesterday my wife and asked about it.They clearly said that we can deal only after 17 months not less than that.
We just asked her to know whats going on file. She said to apply for the notes ETC..........

MP offices have been instructed not to make too many inquiry before 17 month processing time.
Some office still do and some office use it as an excuse not to do anything.
Better to apply for notes and to make specific enquiry based on your notes.

Hi.. I did post my experience on the day of interview but maybe you missed it.. So here it is.. The red flag in our application could be that my husband had already been to canada on a study permit and he had to come back in between due to some family problems so he could not go back and complete his studies.. This is the only red flag i could think of... Other than that you can check the interview experience.. The interviewer didnt ask him too many questions but she just looked at each and every proof.. She was only trying to figure out that the marriage is genuine... And looking at current trend for 2014 applicants they are scheduling interview for August right now i guess and you can get your date by june or july if they work at the fast pace.. And just keep all the proofs ready and make sure you have a lot of pics together to show them for different occasions ...

Interview went well and application approved. The interviewer was a Canadian lady and the interview lasted for 2 hours.. I was eagerly waiting for their call here in Canada but they didnt call me.. She asked him few details about me, dob, job, salary, address, phone number,hobbies... She took the whole 2 hours by just looking at the proofs.. My husband took 4 big albums of our marriage and some small albums.. She actually went through each and every picture and each and every proof thoroughly... At the end she said that she is satisfied that our marriage is genuine and she sent us the remedical request right away and said that we will get the passport request within 10 days after they receive the medicals.. Cant describe the feeling right now .. I would suggest everyone to carry a lot of proofs and photos with you to the interview.. Wish everyone all the very best for your applications and interviews.. Smiley Smiley Smiley

Good Luck..

I am sorry , I did nor read your interview experience, I had lived/stayed in Canada on valid study visa for 11 months in year 2009, I returned to India due to some family problems, and could not able to return back/was not able to complete study, and my wife visited Canada on student via in may 2010 and staying there after PR (except her 1.5 months india visit at our marriage time in India). Did she (visa officer) ask any reason for returning back to India to your husband or any reason / any thing related to your husband at interview about Canada student visa. I think she may be doubting both knew each other at time of student visa. Congrats.

If we do Case inquiry they still say that we will reply you if you crossed 17 months only

Yes she asked him questions as to why he came back and left studies in between and why he didnt tried to apply for study visa again.. She also asked him the college he went to in canada. She wanted to know just the reason of him coming back and not going again at that time...
