I sent a letter last week requesting them to expedite my spouse application as my spouse is still in Nepal. I hope, they consider my request. Let's see what happens.

Hello Chandan ji, Namaste!

Thank you for the reply!
Could you please share some detail about the letter and also, when did you apply for the PR?

considering your wife is already canadian citizen, your baby will directly have canadian citizen. so, there is no need to add your baby's name to your PR application. However, what you do need to do it file to receive your baby's canadian citizenship card. Now, I know that this used to takes months to almost a year in the past but I have a relative who has three boys (all born in india). the first two, it took them almost a 10+ months to get it, however, the last one for whom they applied last year, got it in less than 2 months time. not sure if they got lucky or the timeline has considerably reduced now.

the other option is where your baby is born in canada. Make sure your wife's health card is valid and if you have family support for her to move here till the time of birth, that would work. She would then need to obtain the birth certificate and apply for a passport for the baby in case she and baby needs to come back to be with you in india till the immigration process is complete. The birth certificate and passport would usually take around a month's time to obtain after birth.

I am a Canadian Citizen and my wife is an Indian citizen. We recently had a baby in India and we right away sent the Child's Birth Certificate to the Immigration office, so that it may be attached to the PR application of my wife. At the same time we applied for the citizenship certificate for our baby. They said it can take upto 12 months but we got ours in 7 months. Contact the High Commission of Canada for details.

If you do need to travel before the Citizenship Certificate arrives then you can always get a Canadian passport for your child stating a need for travel, just produce the travel itenary as proof. We had to travel and we were able to get the Canadian passport by showing a travel itenary. They said it will take about 20 business days but it took us couple of more business days to get the passport. Whenever you get the passport, make sure you get your Child an Indian visa at the nearest FRRO (Foreigners Regional Registration Office). The little one will need a visa to stay in India :) ... Contact FRRO office for more details.

If you do decide to have the baby in India then make sure you keep regularly update your wifes' PR application with all the updates.
- Send the birth Certificate
- Send the Child's Citizenship Certificate Application receipt
- Send the copy of Child's passport, if you get it
- Send the copy of Citizenship certificate when it arrives

Your wife doesn't need to be in Canada and you can have a baby in India. But if you prefer to have a baby in Canada then yes make sure your wifes' Health Card card is still valid, otherwise she will need to renew it as soon as she gets there.

Hello everyone,

I am returning to the forum after a longgggg time..

I am march 3rd/2014 applicant and received interview letter from NDVO on april 24/2015.
my interview is on june 2nd.

As I learned from senior member, I did remedical without request and also did police clearance as they both were expired.

my husband did come to india in the mean time and we spent really awesome 5 weeks together.

And from my notes it looks like we don't have red flag but a random pick for interview (Bad luck).

Is there anyone know better about interview?

We know everything about each other.

what else they can ask? we have lots of photos when my husband came to India. Skype, viber screen shots, normal call history for last 8 months, whats app chat history ( First and last 10 pages as in total there are about 60,000+ pages to print :o ).

is there anything else I need to get along for interview. so scared and frustrated.

please help out guys.

Thank for your great support during the tough time.
