Hi Innosense,

I don't get it why ask for PCC upfront when it is going to expire. PCC is only Valid for 6 months in any case. If person has stayed out of India, Will they ask for PCC from that country again? in my case my husband has stayed in UK for 2 years and to get the PCC from there is going to take atleast a month. Not sure what are we supposed to do :( :(

I know !! I don't understand why NDVO (or any VO with long processing time) collect anything upfront. Medicals expire, PCC expire, even the photos expire. That's why they ask again during PPR. Everything is money and time.

I was wondering if they take years to process app, then sponsor completes almost 1 or 2 tax years. Then he could have taken welfare after sponsorship approval. Even SA becomes invalid after few years logically. So its just a never ending loop. Even relationships become invalid.
I read few horror stories where people were denied and appealed and won but they decide to separate. Then one person reports another. So sick of this reality. :(

Below is the updated rule when submitting PCC, but I believe they have 1 year validity as mentioned in GCMS notes for whom Background/Security is done. So everything is our luck and fate.

For the country you currently live in, the police certificate must be issued no more than six months before you apply.

For countries where you have lived for six months or more, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you lived in that country.

Congratulation avneet.. you waited so long.. gud luck with your future.

Guys yes yes yes we all areupset NDVO is slow - yes we have been away from our spouses and we feel like crying-
BUT!
give them some credit!

the processing times just got updated,

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp

and NDVO is one of the only offices in the world whose processing time has not gone up!!!!!!!
Look at other offices--- 24 - 40 months
god! shows even if NDVO is greatand the best its better than 80 %of the other offices.

yes easy to crib, I crib everyday, but we need to stop and count your lucky stars a little bit even if we cant see them.
Hope everybody gets what I am saying.

Thanks for posting this +1. I just noticed this as well that our timeline hasnt changed phew. Hopefully this means something positive for us

Relationships are going to get sour because of this wait. When one is separated for so long, what are they going to do. to make the matter worse, your own relatives won't let you live in peace. there is a level of patience in everyone, and when that level is reached things go haywire. NDVO is testing us a lot and some run out of this patience

Tired of this Sh**ty process. AR/ MR on Ecas makes it worse :'( :'( >:( >:( >:(

Fiza, I advice you to apply for a PCC of UK ASAP and start that process even if they haven't asked for it yet. My husband has just stayed in Canada before and there is hell to pay for it. Even to come back to the same country u stayed in before and that has delayed everything for us. They asked for fingerprints and what bloody not ...
So my advice start the pcc application even if they haven't asked cause by the time they get to that part in your file God alone knows how much time will pass.

Hope this helps.

Hi Rhomank,

I don't have an answer to your question but yes it won't be possible to apply for visitor visa without passport. I Think it should be against to hold on to passport for more than a year. Knowing NDVO they won't reply to emails.

I would recommend to go public, contact media house with your story as that would be the only way to get your passport back and of course with visa stamp. There cannot be any reason to hold on to passport for so long. There has to be a way where you can file case against NDVO.

I know of one such story where a person got hold of someone whose passport was send to somebody else and to hide this mistake from media NDVO were on their knees. They can do anything to not be in bad limelight!

Hi Fiza

Thanks for the reply. I completely agree that it is totally illegal to do this. I have emailed them at the regular address asking for the passport back or someother way but lets see if they even reply to the email. I am so tired with this dont have any more strength to go on plus going through pregnancy without my husband here is just killing me . and also no other family support

Pls pray for me ...i really need it.. i guess the last step would be to go public...

Hey Rhomank - I second Fiza. Besides the suggestion that I gave you via PM you can use CBC's GoPublic channel (Kathleen Thompson is the reporter) and see if it helps your cause. This is really absurd and abuse of power by NDVO. Try emailing them or send the application along with proper documentation stating that your hubby's pp is with NDVO (when your hubby applies for TRV) and if that does not work out then gopublic can be your other alternative.

hey buggle boy !
I did ask VFS , they said that they would not accept the application for visitors visa without the passport.....or they need written conformation /email from CIC that they are ok with accepting the application stating that the passport is already with them.

I just emailed CIC , please pray for me that atleast we get a reply from them in a timely manner....havent been with my husband since last dec when i visited him and now cant even visit cause of travel restrictions due to the pregnancy...so depressed and down...

Thanks Rhomank. i will definitely let my husband be aware of it. Also, we don't know how long are we going to wait. If we order for PCC today, what is the guarantee that it won't expire again as usually UK PCC is valid for only 3 months.

oh...what a mess NDVO has put us in :( >:( >:( >:(

Praying for you dear....hope you get to be with your loved one soon

I am going through the similar situation except the pregnancy part. I bought a house thinking my husband will be joining and now financially draining myself. I Might have to work two jobs soon if things doesn't improve.

I will suggest again to go public as holding the passport for more than an year should be a criminal offence!

Guys kindly sign the petition. We need only 42 more participants. And can anybody give me a clear idea, currently ndvo kaunse month ki applications process kar rai hai? I have applied in the month jan 2015, how much time are they gonna take to reach jan applicants? Please somebody reply back only ifyou have a confirmed news about it
