Hi Mandahar,

I am a feb 24 applicant, my status is still "Application Received". Neither I or my wife(sponsored) person have received any uci# or acknowledgement from NDVO. Although I did receive an acknowledgement from Mississauga upon approval of my sponsorship. I am about to request the case notes but do I need a consent signed from my wife in order for me to that?

Thanks

You can call CIC and also ask when NDVO has received the file..My Husband also did the same thing.

Welcome to the forum....Good luck with your application...

Post your timeline....kimmy is the admin...she will add you on....thanks...

Has anyone made the spreadsheet yet?

those notes are really helpful....through the notes you come to know what all is being updated in your file like all the documents you submitted are delivered on time to them...are they added to your file....and so on....and yes they charge 5$ and take approx. 2.5 months to deliver.....

Just keep in mind guys only request GCMS notes if you absolutely have to because this is extra work for them to collect and process this information to send back to you so it can delay your file further.

But if you haven't heard anything and really concerned, I would say go for it so at least that will give you assurance that all is in place. As nothing is precious then peace of mind :)

**Good Luck to all**

Off topic: Canada amends its citizenship rules. Now to be eligible to apply for citizenship an individual must have been physically present in Canada for 1460 days (4 years) within a six year window. Previously, it was 3 yrs within a five year window. So basically they have added another year before you can become eligible to apply.

Well this is not true... you can apply for Citizenship after 3 years its just you have to be in Canada physically for 1095 days (3years) within last 4 years... so if a person is a landed immigrant and never been outside of Canada after that and its been 3 years now so he can apply for citizenship... personal experience as i'm apply for Citizenship next week :)

ya but did u check the timeline? he was a sept 2013 applicant. what's taking so long? did anyone tried to call New Delhi? and I have a concern. its been more than 2 weeks. I have not received aor 2 from new delhi. I haven't even recieved aor 1 yet. my husband called cic in mississauga and they told that his sponsorship is approved. he also confirms that the email address was correct. but haven't heard anything yet.. :( :( :( horrible days going right now. anger, confusion, frustration all feelings coming at once.

Hey ask your husband to check online status of your application with his UCI number and it will give you clear picture as to wht is happening... and don't worry even my application took like 3 months to reach NDVO...

its amazing to know how much research people have done on canadian immigration process

it is not the imposed law yet....but it has been in news for sometime now that they are changing from 3 out of 5 to 4 out 6 years late this year or early next .

good luck with your application....
