I am new to forum..I have applied for spousal sponsorship in March,2014. I just updated my info on spreadsheet...

i received aor 28-march-2014 any idea when they will request passport ?

Congrats on 1st AOR.

Now you will get Sponsorship Acceptance ( SA ) letter. [ you will received SA letter in next 1 to 17 days after 1st AOR ]
Then File transfer to local country ( India - New Delhi ) for actual processing.
Then if needed, they may asked for 2nd AOR from India Visa office to you.
Then Passport Request at end will come.

Hi All,

I am an early March applicant. And my Spousal application is still in process after the file is moved over to NDVO.

In March itself I applied for Student VISA. I found a course and an university near to where my spouse is located. Student VISA got approved for the May intake and I was able to come to Canada in April. I wanted to anyhow do higher studies , so both of this came together and I am with my spouse now.

Course I had taken is a one year course and i expect my processing of the spouse visa to be also done in the same time. Anyhow i will have to go back to India to get my spousal visa stamped on the passport.

Note: There is no where in the student visa document that asks for whether you have applied through any other Canadian immigration application.
The course cost could be anywhere between 12k CAD to 30K CAD.
I applied through a consultancy.
NDVO allows for dual intent.
Right course selection and a strong Statement of Purpose is the key.
I do not know any negative effects of this application on the Spousal VISA.

Just wanted to share my experience, hoping it might help someone.

Hello Friends,

I got my 1 AOR on 4th June and I just checked my status online its says they started processing my application on 5th June and also they sent me a letter through mail about decision on my application and on my application status is still IN PROCESS. If they made decision on my application and sent me an letter why is it still IN PROCESS??

Can anybody please tell me is it normal?

Hey chd_guy that is normal you will receive the sponsorship approval in the mail nd that ur file is transferred to NDVO

Hope for the best. I am just worried bcoz it says still IN PROCESS and on other hand it says they sent an letter about decision on my application to my address.

Any update from your side?

Not a problem bro, they always do that to confuse you. I got AOR I m jus waiting for the SA as well probably this week it will go to india I will let you know good luck

SA comes to ur address in canada or goes to India?????

As far as I know to Canada they can also email you everyrhing after that goes to india

Plz answer to my question. I wnt to knw wht is da difference between sponsorship application status and permanent residence application status??? Ven i login to check my application status it shows decision made for sponsorship application status and application received for permanent residence application status. Cn u plz let me knw da difference among da two.

if it shows decision made for sponsorship application status it means they r approved u as a spouse. ..means ur file is complete n they approved it...
there r two types of DM...one u received now when they approved ur sponsorship..and other u received when u will wait for 10 to 13 months, , and totally lose ur pateince like right now ours situation. ..
