It seems u quoted opposite correct me if am wrong.
Its like if my own pr z applied n thn i get married i need to update consulate where as if i already have pr n get marry in later years no update z needed.

PR is granted only after u finish landing formalities..an immigrant visa in passport does not mean that u got PR. at the time of landing u sud disclose if thr is any change in marital status( i dont know whther they entertain this at the immigration counter at the canada airport coz u reachd canada without informing the marital status change, they mayb give an exceptn considering ur lack of knowldge regarding this) .u cannot lie there...it is highly recommnded that u sud inform visa office if thr is any change in ur status before flying to canada, and the visa office will not permit u to fly if the marital status is changed, they may ask u to include ur spouse in the current application. which wud have completed in a 6months period.

now in their case they should consult a very experienced lawyer..

Do people who used specialized immigration consultants or lawyers have an advantage in processing times?

No, it doesn't speed up the processing, unfortunately. They are just there to help share your stress or to give advice.

Hi ,

After recieval of SA how long it takes to get status upadted in ECAS?

Cheerss!!!

Hey guys,
Im so much troubled by the thoughts of me not getting a PPR. My timeline is:
Applied on Nov 15, 2013
Sponsorship Approval Dec 18,2013
Received my file no. 30 Jan, 2014. The letter stated to submit the fee and PCC if not submitted. I have already submitted both.
Till now there is no Passport request and no further info. My e-cas status is Application has been received and Medicals are received.
What would be the prob in getting the passport reqyest, if anyone knows. Also , what should be the next step?

Dear Palaki

see Desi-girl's comments, sometimes giving them a call, would help the case along i guess. Hope it helps!

Thanks Desi-Girl! for you suggestions earlier, i have sent my application for PCC to US and UK yesterday.

Regards
KanSri

Nothing to worry about. If there was problem, they would have already sent you back the application with a Letter stating that something was wrong, like missing forms or signatures.
Did you give them your email address on your forms as sponsor? If not, they will send snail mail and it takes a week longer than the processing times posted on CIC website. If you are still worried because you have gone past the 30 days of submission, call their Call Centre telephone number: 1-888-242‑2100 and tell them your details and they can answer your questions.

Not sure which is right,

1) There arent many people applying for FAM-PR from INDIA this year(compared to 2013) or
2) There are applications being filed but they are not signing up on this forum!

mid march and only 13 applicants!!

Warm Regards
KanSri

now u will be able to....done the settings to edit :)

I believe there is no point checking ECAS status after receiving SA till the time you are not asked for PPR. Is that right?

yes u can send them your honeymoon pics i know loads of ppl who have sent them more proof after submission of the application now they all in Canada after the visa ....and sending them honeymoon pics is of a big deal so go ahead sent it to the same address as the ppr and send them a covering letter with that saying why u sent it later etc :) hope this helps good luck :)
