Bro when i applied for my visa like 3 years back it was family stream application not spousal... they asked me for 2 different PCC's bcoz my native place was different than where i was living right then... so it is better you have 2 pcc's.. if you lived more than 6 months and you are showing it in your application then yes get pcc's for it if you dont wanna delay process... its always good to have everything covered up rather than regretting later..

But i'm back at home from where i was studying and its been few months. What if i don't want to mention what i was studying in my application.

And when they make request for additional documents etc. Do they make it by sending some letter or by emailing you.

We had very small wedding at arya samaj only my father was there,does that affect me ?
Me and my wife don't want to involve much people thats why we choosed arya samaj wedding and took my dad as witness, i want to ask is that okay as we don't have modern wedding stuff like reception etc.?
And how long does it take to get visa and what the minimum financial requirement for sponsorship?

As per the present trend it takes about 6-8 months to get the visa after you submit your application to CPC-M.

There is not minimum financial requirement for sponsoring a spouse, but you need to show them how you would cover the expenses, if you have a job, get a letter from the employer as to how many years you have been working and how much they pay you, along with your pay slips.

A small wedding is not a problem, but you need to show photos which shows all the traditions of the weddings and photos where families and friends from both the side are there in the photos. You will have to write a convincing answer to the questions in the form 5490E as to why there was no reception and other ceremonies.

Try and get as many proofs that shows that your wedding was genuine which followed all the traditions and families from both the sides were involved. Start collecting your call and chat history too.

I have few questions about form IMM0008.. in UCI doesn my wife has to mention my UCI number as i'm sponsor or leave it blank?? Also in Marriage date, do i write traditional wedding date or the court marriage date which was registered after a week ? and about IMM0008dep do we have to fill out/print n leave it blank with N//a or just dont even send it and just mention N/A on checklist?

Also does anyone know any resources to find out samples for all these forms for sponsored person?? please share link if anyone know..

Hi suratguyforu,

1. If you have a UCI from your previous interaction with CIC or have been issued one (if you have been approved as a sponsor), use that, otherwise leave it blank.

2. I would say put the date on which you had your marriage ceremony.
On your marriage certificate it should say the date on which your marriage ceremony was performed.
As your wedding photos will have all the details, and your wedding invitation that you send family & friends will have the date (which you have to include in your application package)
you should stick to that date and mention the date that you had a court marriage.

3. Don't fill and submit IMM0008Dep as that is only applicable if you and your wife are applying together for PR. if you are already in Canada and she is the only one immigrating, then she is the principal applicant and there are no dependants (if you have children, their details will have to be filled in IMM0008Dep)

There are no filled forms available since it's all confidential information.
The forms look daunting, I agree, but go with your instinct and just blindly follow the instructions they've given!

I paid an immigration consultant lots of money to help with my forms but in the end, I just did it myself. Just follow instructions to the T and you'll be fine.

Refer to your country specific guidelines and the Sponsor checklist and provide all the documents.

I even didn't put N/A on all the blanks because when you fill the forms on Adobe reader, when you tick "no" for any answer, it automatically darkens the blanks that you don't need to fill.
