I need help!! I filed my package on Aug 25, I haven't herd anything from them as of yet. I'm confused what happens next how do I check my status online or do they notify by email of some kind of ref# to check the application online.

Yeah. Please check vfs website.. they mentioned there passport collection time...
I think u r right.. jalandhar vfs collect passport from 9 to 11 and 4 to 5...

Yes, you would get acknowledgement letter which has file#, via email if you provided email or via mail. You can also check CIC website "Check your application status" using your payment receipt#.

Hello Everyone!!!

Last night just as I was about to go to sleep, I get a call from my wife telling me that she received an email from NDVO with a Passport Request!!! I can assure you it was hard to sleep afterwards! It sure doesn't seem real but finally its happening!!! ;D ;D

I do have couple of questions regarding ppr...

1) The email says that the passport will have to get to New Delhi. Does it mean that my wife will have to courier the passport to NDVO or should she take it to VFS location?

2) Also for those who have gotten their visas, how long of duration do they get on their visas. I have read in one place that NDVO gives you 30 days from the issuance of Visa before you must arrive in Canada and the other place says that the Visa that they issue have an expiry until your medical date.

Could someone please shed some light on this...

Congrats!

1) Take it to VFS location - safer and generally a good method.
2) I've heard that they give you time until your medical expires to leave India. In most cases, people leave within days or a week or two after receiving visa.

CIC will contact you once they approve your application. Until then, all you can do is wait. Only after getting approval you get file number. Without file number you cannt check your status online.

I see you sent ur file on Aug 27th and me on Aug 25th, how did they get back to you so fast on oct 3rd asking for docs, I haven't herd anything from them still

I'm scared as to did they receive my file or not ???

Any one noticed the Processing Times? It shows 66 months for India as of October 8th . Seems like a mistake to me...

How long does it takes to get the passport with P/R documents after getting decision made on application status ? FYI, VFS will be doing the delivery.
