Hi all
I am new to this forum. Thank you for creating this forum & helping for queries.
Can someone please point to right direction:
Where can I track my file?
Which month files are being processed right now?
I also read some acronyms, what do they mean?
You can track your file at: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/my_application/status.asp
Currently january and February 2014 applicants are gettinf IP (in process)
Two January applicant got their visa and one has also landed in Canada. In their case the wife was pregnant and due date was any time soon. The other person just few days back got his passport with visa.
NDVO stands for New Delhi Visa Office
SA stands for sponsor approval which is the process that takes about 30 to 55 days depending on current processing times on the CIC website. This is besically the approval of the person that is sponsoring from Canada. At this stage the canadian government checks information of the person living in Canada and who is the sponsor. They check all the forms to make sure they are filled appropriately.
AOR means acknowledgement of receipt and you receive that once your sponsor is approved. On the AOR you get your file number which is the number for the person living in the other country and UCI or unique client id is for the sponsor or person living in Canada. Using these numbers and some other information asked on the status checking website as I gave you above you can check your status.
IP means in process. This takes about 7 to 8 months according to current time trends for jan and feb applicants. Once your online status shows In process it means your application is on the last stage and there are slim chances of you getting an interview according to currunt trend. But despite that I want to warn you that some people have gotten phone interviews.
DM stands for decision made. This meams a decision has been made and soon you wil get a PPR or passport request asking for your passport to stamp the visa.
Hope this helped
