It is hard to say how things would be by the time you get to this position, things change with Immigration processes without any notice. Based on the trend these days it is talking 8 to15 months approx for the whole process in a genuine case. I don't think they care about High or Low income, as long as you are earning enough to support your spouse that's all it matters in this case, which is fair I think. And Visitor visa is a matter of luck I would say, some ppl got it without any issue, good for them but it there is refusal it will delay everything even further...
