Hi,
M jan 2014 applicant , my interview was done on 13 april, and remedical req 3 july . m in process since 15 april. does anyone have any idea dat how long dey ll take more and can anybody please tell me dat wat dey do in background check and when ? i mean before interview and after. but visa officer told me at the interview time dat as soon as i ll submit my medical dey ll grant me visa but why dey r not giving any update now?

Ha ha my visa office also give me the same words and still i m waiting

since yu hv got re med request means, visa officer is satisfied dat yur relationship is genuine based on ur proofs + interview. yu hv also passed background checks like criminality and admissiblity, but he cnt issue yu a visa with yur expired medical or about to expire (means yu cnt b able to land before it expires), so he requested for re meds. now yu hv sent them yur re meds but the medical is still with the Regional Medical Officer who will reassess the medical, make a report and forward it to visa officer, visa officer then will make a decision. status will turn to DM. then ppr n visa. RMO usually takes 2 months n few days to frwrd it to visa officer. hope this helps. gud luck.

The re-med process applies only to cases where a final decision is pending due to either:

the expiration of a medical certificate; or,
when the validity of the medical certificate is about to expire and the applicant is unable to land before it expires.
The process does not apply to applicants who are inadmissible on health grounds since inadmissible ‘M’ profiles do not expire.

Wow.. that is surprising.. Congrats Arvind... Hopefully you will get DM soon too.. I think they are taking around a month for DM.

Also we are on same timeline.. checked ecas just now. mine is still ar/mr

I'm happy for you, but no offence, it's frustrating at the same time. NDVO just decided to skip Oct, Nov and started processing Dec files. God please help us overcome such difficult times!
