interview was mainly about relationship progress; timelines (we spend hours and hours memorizing date and years but no questions were dates and years and no photos were shown and asked for dates and years); when it become strong; family particulars and it ended with 'I will let you know in two weeks'. At this point, we have no idea if we got it or not. Reason being passport was not asked and nothing about remedicals. Interview lasted about two hours.One thing that really helped was going through application form, notes (most questions were from their concerns mentioned in the notes), supporting documents and forming possible questions plus 250 questions posted in this forum. All the questions were answered to the interviewer's satisfaction except one.

Just a brief background - family is opposed to this relationship; partner applied for tourist visa but did not declare the real relationship but mentioned it as visiting 'friend' and not 'partner'; did not get tourist visa. Interviewer kept asking why it was declared but my partner explained that since the application form was filled by a family friend and if the family knew it would end up in a forced marriage to another person. Interviewer seems to accept it first then keep asking this question again and again few times and my partner stuck to the same answer. She kept asking few times why did you lie in your application for tourist form. Why didn't you come to us and ask for help? At that time the receptionist called the interviewer wanting to know when the interview will end because she wanted to go for lunch (I was in the hall waiting and receptionist, a fat Indian woman, asked me if I was waiting for my turn. I told her at that point as a sponsor I may be or may not be called in for interview but not sure...then she called interviewer) and interviewer got irritated and ended the interview with 'will let you know in two weeks'. I hope Canadian lady understands that when applying for tourist visa there is no category called 'partner' in the drop down list of relationship to the person you are going to visit.

Only sponsored person was interviewed. A Canadian white woman asked questions. Very nice woman. Did anyone had this woman as an interviewer and did she tell the result right away (like Indian visa officers) or not?

First of all, a update on my case... My hubby landed on April 24th. Sorry for the late post... As everyone could imagine... We suddenly become very busy when our spouse land in Canada!!!

Now, to answer to your concern waiting to exhale, we also had a canadian lady for the interview, i don't know if she was the same than yours but ours was very strict and straight forward with my hubby doubting about everything that he was saying, but very sweet with me. At the end she told us that she believe that our case is genuine. I don't have the name of that lady and I am pretty sure there is more than one Canadian lady. We also in our red flags the same than you, about declaring being friend on touristic application visa which also got rejected. What you said is true, there is no way on this form to declare someone as a boyfriend or girlfriend, also there is no such "status" in India so it makes things confusing when applying for it. This is what my husband said when she questionned.

you and ur spouse did a great job.
you accompanying her for the interview shows how much u guys love each other. that itself proves how genuine is the relationship
and they should have given straight away the VISA..hmm never mind we knew about NDVO...
Dont worry..our prayers are there...
As others said...u r the one who gives positive hope and good suggestion for any queries.
Just keep ur fingers crossed...and we are darn sure u will be coming back to canada with ur spouse.

thanks karthik for those kind words...I am ok now..it' s just it has taken 5 years of challenges facing family opposition and I was hoping at the time of interview they would just say those magic words 'give me your passport'. Few more weeks and I would read those magic words.

Thanks for sharing your story. I don't see why you could be refused if the only bad point is the tourist visa as friend. Interviewer was nice overall, so thats a good sign.

she did not say 'visa rejected go for appeal' so it is a good sign....

The forum refers you as Jun applicant.
NDVO may give priority based on file creation date or based on the medical expiry date or any other fancy date which nobody knows how this crazy NDVO acts.
But as per forum news most of Jun and July are getting their visas now. Even a portion of Aug is cleared. It is obvious you are getting tensed.
Now you apply for the GCMS notes to know the process of the scrutiny and comments over there. This also helps you know any red flags.
You do self audit of your application. If there is no redflag then remedical as you said it is expired. This may be the only issue you visualise at this juctiure. You will get the status update shortly. Have patience. Pray. All the best.

welcome to forum..
we have same time line.. application received on 19 June 2013, and ppr on 10 September ..medical has expired on 12 April.. afterwards i didn't hear anything from embassy..
have patience.. let them take their time.. they are busy to clear backlog.. also they are working so fast.. we are few in this forum and lots of applicant are also in this waiting game.. be cool . god is with us.. tc

I received my notes today and m not able to understand nethng medical in progress nd due date is 2014/17/06 and security not started criminality not started. Interview recommended and assignment due date is 2014/21/06. Can sum1 help to make me understand bout dis.

forget about medicals they may ask you to redo medicals since it has been a while since it expired...interview has been recommended but in the last few pages does it say what the morons concerns were (they don't say it directly they might say like sponsor's birthdate is so and so sponsored's birthdate is so and so..which means they have concerns about age difference) and work on it...I had interview and mine in the notes said medical results received (which has been the same since the time I had submitted my application) but security and criminality not started..

In the last few pages they mentioned my previous relationship and three kids from previous relationship nd their dob(kids). And also mentioned our wedding date nd parents absence and reason for not to go on honeymoon during my stay but they did say dat spinster provide a lot of post marriage communication call records nd chats. Nothing bout our DoB. But we Hv a huge age differ
