I truly empathize with you...in my case they have my application since April 2013, in process since March 2014, and they have not even asked me for my passport. away from my spouse since past 14 months now. he is even contemplating to pack up and come back to be with me now.

Apply for GCMS notes asap.

Hey Tenzin, we haven't had any update since we submitted the passport. I have filed for GCMS notes and am yet to receive them...

I first went to canada in 2003 on student visa , my visa expired dec 2008 but I over stayed with no status . I met my wife in 2010 and then in 2012 we planned to go back to India and get married . We got married in feb 2013 and she's stayed in India for six months , being a Canadian citizen she only has 6 month Indian visa . She visited me again in January 2013, but this time she only stayed for 2 month. She took my file with her and applied to mississuaga office in June . July 24,2013 they informed us that my wife is eligible to sponser and and file transferred to Delhi office . Then on august27,2013 they asked to submit passport with police clearance and right of permanent resident fee . So know I am wondering how much more time I will have to wait and also little worried to know if everything is fine because I didn't hear anything from them after that . Are suppose to inquire more from me , or to verify any document ?
Also to mention it was a love marriage which her parents didn't approve and they didn't even attend our wedding .

There is a time, after you submit your passport and before they start processing your file, when they do not communicate at all. This is normal for NDVO, so do not worry. There are many of us in the same situation.
They have started processing August applicants and you can expect them to start processing your application soon. Hopefully, you will not have any trouble in getting the visa and the process will be pretty standard. But given your history, they might take a little longer as they have a lot more information to process in your case. If they need more information, they will contact you by email or phone. Hang in there buddy.

well there is not purticuler format , you just need to send your spouse uci no. Full name, your address, including your name and address. WITh these detail you can request your mp to do inquiry on behalf of u, also ur mp may need a sign authaurization letter from ur spuse, thats it, and your ready to go, hope it works for you

Hey Everyone....thank you so much for ur prayers and words of encouragement....i reallly hope and wish that NDVO just gets SUPER EFFICIENT and clears all of our cases and gives the passports ASAP so that we can all move forward in our lives with our spouses and families....this is an extremely hard time for all of us..we all have different types of challenges to face each day...lets just keep praying that everything goes smoothly and we can be reunited quickly with our loved ones....best of luck to everyone....stay strong.

Hi Loving, Yes on your advise, I just did this morning. I believe that too will take another 20 - 30 days before I hear anything back from them.

On 25-30th day you will get a reply.I have filled GCMS notes 3 times and that my observation.

Through GCMS notes only I came to know that smart and intelligent CIC's staff entered wrong email address into their system.Just see the height after telling the mistake NDVO responded "It is not inline with the email address entered in the form". Because of wrong email address I missed PPR(passport request)

I pity such staff for their lack of professionalism, and responsibility to accept such an error. Next week I also complete the time stipulated on the CIC website before filing an inquiry directly to CIC NDVO, so I will also send them a note through the online portal.

I have a very similar timeline. There has been one September applicant (out of 5 or 6 in this forum) who got an "in process" status on 21st April. Overall, they only have 120 applicants to process for September so I'm hoping I'll see some good news soon. Keep your stick on the ice

My lawyer emailed NDVO and they called him my wife's file was received on Nov 21 and was sent to new delhi in jan just got to know now. Is that normal that a file is sent to NDVo after more then 1 and a half month and does the countdown to 13 months begins from Nov or Jan. I just want to confirm what you guys tell me and what he is telling me. and yes still no request to send passport.

How are you all doing..? Hope everything is going very well. It's been over a month since I logged in last time.

Question: NDVO sent my wife a letter to renew her passport and redo the medical last week of March 2014. Well, my question is that when she went to get her passport renewed they said that her passport is damaged. Which her passport wasn't damaged but still we said okay and paid the amount for tatkal service. So, that we can receive the passport at the earliest. Well, here is the story according to the Indian passport.gov website it said to renew and damaged passports the charges are Rs. 2,500 but they charged us Rs. 3,000 and for tatkal service Rs 1,500 more and in total we paid Rs 5,000. I know that they charged us over because we told them we need the passport urgently as we need to do the medical and submit it to NDVO before May 2nd, 2014. When we paid and handed the form they said you will receive the passport within 10-15 days as your passport is damaged. WHICH MAKES NO SENSE!!!!!!!!!

It's already been a month and it's May 2nd, 2014 in India and we still haven't received the passport. Can, anyone help and tell me what should we do now or how can we put pressure on these idiotic passport office ppl., because we also need to do the medical.. It's really frustrating.. My father-in-law going to the office and asking them and making request that we need the passport asap and all they are saying soon you will get it for past 3 weeks. PLEASE, GUYS CAN YOU REPLY BACK ASAP!
