They can inquire to visa office on your behalf and tell u the status of your application. But they cant push visa officers to finalize your case faster. To do so, u have to contact MP(member of parliament) of your area in canada. They ask u to fill a form by both of u IMM5745e. Then give it to them. Then they make inquiry to visa office n tell u result in a week. To find nearest MP, follow the link

You have an MP (member of parliament) who represents you in the area where you are living in Canada.... yes they have the right to contact ndvo and get information like status of your file....u contact them only if people after u are getting visa's and u have no clue whats happening with your file.....basically the last option is mp coz most of the time they don't help if u are under the processing time that's 12 months for new delhi at present.......Mp is totally free no fee

U can contact your MP in Canada

http://www.parl.gc.ca/.../Hous.../MemberByPostalCode.aspx...

Go to this link type in your postal code.

Once u find your MP u can call them and book an appointment to meet her/him or do it on the phone itself....they will guide u with the process and what forms u have to fill and sign... after all forms signed and given bk to mp then they will email ndvo on your behalf asking for your information on your application ....this is the fastest way to contact NDVO max 1 week ....but frankly u need to have a good mp.........

hope this helps u to understand the procedure and what a MP does :)

Hello everyone, :)
I applied for my wife from Canada in Nov and application received came up on CIC on Nov 21st and jan 6 showed medical results have been received.
Q1. Anyone here who applied in Nov.
Q2. Anyone knows how long it is taking now a days.

What is going to happen next and the timeline written on CIC is that accurate or depends on case by case basis

I applied in July, still waiting with only "application received" and "medical received" since then. From what I can tell it's at least 7-8 months from the day you apply till you actually hear anything. You have a long ride my friend, hold on tight, it's a doozy :) Next, you will receive a request for your passport soon (maybe in a month or so), then you will get "in process" when you check your status online, after that it's "decision made", then you get your passport back with visa. Good Luck :)
