Even i got a call day before yesterday to verify dob n address and i asked when can i expect my visa or decision has been made she said no your file is still in ip !!

No i din ask her abt tat...she simply asked me to confirm dob and address...and asked whether i d like to pick my pp myself or want them to mail it to me...and also abt my meds expiry date ...so i shud leave bef tat

Received passport today with not so shiny visa. Visa stamp indicates that it was issued on 03-JAN. DM showed up on 05-JAN on ecas. And received pp today, 11-JAN

IT'S DM!!! I checked in the morning around 9:30AM Indian time however it was IP. Then this evening at 6:15PM the status changed to DM.

I did not receive any call for address nor my Indian address has changed to Canadian yet.

yest and today nothing boring.... week is over....sunday? u never know Im sure next week blast again ...infact whole of jan will be a blast its goin to me the OMG month

To make myself positive, i can say that, lot of people have got their visas in a months time after they got medicals received in their ecas.... also, my mp told me that background checks are the last step in the process....it is possible that background checks gets completed in a months time also!! I have researched that BC are always done after all the other formalities are completed.

if background checks are last step in the process, then why does NDVO sit on the files for 6 months doing nothing? medicals if done soon after submitting file then they don't have to wait for those results..so what exactly goes on 6 months till they start doing background checks?

If they take a file and start their work on it, it takes just a month to get over with the whole process!! Those idiots have a backlog that makes us wait for so many months.... My Mp told me very clearly that these checks are done after everything is completed because it involves the third party that is CSIS, so before involving them they need to check if the applicant has left with no other reason to reject. After PCC, medicals and eligibilty are cleared, they start the security/backgrounds check! Also, for the girl applicant it is less, however for a guy applicant and an applicant who has an army or police background, it takes more time!!

I am just so irritated with them!! What were they doing till now... simply nothing
