Hi,

I am a newbie here and gathering information on the PR process. I had posted few posts before. I had some more queries which thought the experts here would have an answer to. I am an Indian working in Kuwait and my fiance is a PR in Canada. We would be shifting to Canada post marriage. What I wanted to know is if she applies for my PR, will it compulsorily come to Abu Dhabi office for processing or will I have an option to take New Delhi center? I want to this because Abu Dhabi center takes longer than Delhi for processing and I want to get the PR process done as early as possible.

Experts please help.

There is no chance or interview after IP. And DM can take a weeks, especially now during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

i think if you have long term visa for country where you live then you can also apply from there, but if you want to apply from new delhi office then you have to be in india and you can not go outside because you need to submit your passport to new delhi office in the period of two months of your application. only few people get passport request at the end stage of application but that is rare case.

New Delhi visa office is a patriotic office even though they work for Canadians..they use very reliable Indian postal service, they would send it by registered mail (to keep you on toes visa office would call you to verify your address but won't tell you if they are sending the passport the same day or in a day or two...don't leave your land line alone attach it with a long wire and carry it with you since the call can come anytime) if you can't receive it or if you don't know the mailman, have an authorization letter ready so that someone can get it...
