Hey guys my wife recieved a call from NDVO on nov 9 regarding the confirmation of address to Mail Documents and 2 days later ecas got updated to Medical Recieved. Just wondering what might be the reason for the call, meaning is the visa stamped or they just called to confirm address and then started working on File. It's been more then a month but didn't recieve anything yet. What you guys think about it any help would be appreciated.

u got meds update on ur e-cas it mean u passed the meds and now wait for DM..hope u get it soon..gud luck,,
n what i told u it's wasn't play any role in meds which was ur concerned...!!

did u apply thru a lawyer or a consultant? Usually the consultants/lawyers put their mailing address so that is why NDVO calls principal applicant to confirm India mailing address. They might be doing security/background check...did u try doing MP/GCMS inquiry?

Hi, inprocess was on Nov 9th, ecas got updated on nov 11 Tuesday IST 11:15am and NDVO called on nov 12th asking about Home address so that they could Mail the Documents.

Yeah got the update exactly a month of my IP, as per my due date of Dec 9th. Hope so we get DM soon
I feel so frustrated looking at other ppl waiting too...arghhhh
I did MP enquiry via email, my MP office send status request to NDVO...not expecting any specific response from them, may be just a generic 'final stage' 'background/security pending' reply. Lets see hope we get something this weekend.

oh I didn't know they call for address confirmation even if u apply on ur own.
Try doing MP inquiry....may be NDVO will wake up from their slumber

So it is clear that consulate won't use the return self addressed envelope even if I include it in the package...
Actually tht wud have helped in tracking its return tooo....

And I am sure they wont notify us about the mail or its tracking# that they send right?

And coming to delivery by postman I assume if my ppl show some photo ID of mine shud suffice right?

It wud have made life easier for people like me if the Indian consulates in foriegn countries are allowed to deal such cross border cases...

Some one who got their passport back from visa office could provide actual experience..from what i learnt from this forum, they don't send any email notification about sending passport back (they want you to wait by the window and spend your whole day waiting for postman..they think you don't have a normal life such as office)

as for your postman, if he knows you well he/she might give your passport to people who are at home otherwise to be on safe side, you may want to give an authorization letter plus money (money works wonders in India..those who are expected to do their normal duty like delivering mails expect money to expedite things)

yes it would be easier if they don't ask for passport early in the process; yes it would be easier if they send passports to foreign offices so that no one has to give up jobs and sit in India for this whole process to get over...but if they make applicant's life easier then NDVO looses its charm of offending applicants

IP Since 22 Oct...so when i will get DM??? ??? ??? ???

soon....person who submitted application is asking 'where is PPR?'; PPR asks for IP; IP person asks 'where is my DM'; DM asks 'where is my PP?' overall everyone asks Myrah or Desi-girl 'when will I be kicked out of the forum? (acronym is missing so it will be KF)

that's something I am also considering.....its really stressful this time limit is against human rights I must say
