Myrah, Anupam and Youtube....

I am in even bigger soup than I had imagined... Just got off the call from my lawyer and came to know that shipping passports In and OUT of India is illegal (Customs may confiscate it they say even if one tries that)....

I really got pissed off and asked them then why the hell was I never told about this...

Their solution is to send it through friend (or) travel by myself (or) get the case transfered to Ottawa(complicated and casuses delays as per them)

Totally clueless.....

Friends if anyone has any suggestions lemme know.....

I think I saw in this forum. I think it is valid as a secure mail to an embassy. So it is fine if you send a secured mail to the embassy. Where are you based out of?

It is disheartnening to see no updates today at all.

Apparently all MPs are at the Parliament for session. So I called the office to get an appointment when MP is back, but no reply. Guess have to give them a visit personally, so much for paying taxes!

I live and work in USA on H1B visa. But as I am an Indian citizen I had to submit it to NDVO only for Canadian PR.

I am not eligible to apply in USA since I am not a permanent resident here.

I mentioned that many times on this forum to find out if there are similar members to share their xp.

Well now my lawyer says passports cannot be shipped to India.....

Never I knew this thing...

Wish Indian consulates in foriegn countries are allowed to do this Passport shipping thing.. But it isn't so..

Have been searching all over the net but there is no way out I guess other than

It has to be myself or by a friend.. Lets see

Yes it is tough I understand. Not to dig the past but unless it is different for family sponsorship apps, any applicant who is legally allowed into any country with one year validity visa can apply inside that country.

Hopefully you will find a friend who can deliver it for you.

Thanks,

Ask ndvo for the last request of your passport and tell them situation and you personally go submit and get it stamped and go back to us ..

It is dangerous to stay in other country with out pasport and other thing if ndvo calls for interview how can u land in india with out passport

I said that I didn't get it.

they are asking for 1. divorce certy
2. divorce petition
3.divorce judgement.

I all ready submitted divorce certy along with application.

they told once they will get this document after that they will start processing on my application.

i forgot to put my E-mail address in my address that's why this thing happen and i didn't get letter sent by them by post.

Hi wwf, I would also suggest to send through email and courier. And it's best to send the documents as soon as possible. Good luck.

Hi Robin, it is really unfortunate that you are in this situation.. And now you can't enjoy your holidays because you will be stressed about your situation.
On the plus side and most likely, you won't be called for an interview because you are already in IP. But I would still suggest that you personally go back to India and submit the passport. Because, what if they want you to pick it up form NDVO? And how will you get it back if it can't be couriered and they mail it to your address in India?
Your employer should already know about your PR application so they should also understand that you will need extended leave or to quit your job. Hope everything works out for you.

I was in similar situation when I had to send my passport. I am working in Canada and had got PPR back in March. I sent my passport through Canada Post and it reached NDVO.
