I assume visa officer who process the application and the person in charge of ecas updates are two different people. Even if they are the same person it would be a miracle for the same person to do both at the same time. Because they are not that efficient. Like I am doing now, typing my post and talking to someone and watching TV serials where mother in law is scolding her daughter-in-law (good thing I check my post before clicking on 'post' otherwise my yelling at mother-in-law would appear in print) and I am sure next week daughter-in-law will plot something. Ask an ND visa officer to do that, he (usually it is a he who is baffled since women are capable of multitasking) will quit his job.
Lol I wish ndvo people read your posts over here .i am sure some of them will start working and some of them will commit sucideeee. ;D

that's why when it is anonymous I can write anything..if i have to declare my name and application number, i am sure my application would be kept in fort knox or special place where no one can access

his timeline is bit confusing too...application filed on 31-may-2013 and doc's request is on 12th July while meds done on 12-mar-2013.I guess he was asked to do medicals again? How does one know if the file has gone to
'in process' other than by checking ecas? does the 'application received' under sponsored change to 'in process' and then detail explanation as to when is written when one clicks the link?

Hi!

What about PPR ? You applied for GCM notes or sent mail to NDVO regarding delay in passport request?

Please reply.

Thanks

Yes from what I have heard the application received changes to in process and when one clicks on the link it says we have started processing your application on date .

Hi,

Even i got the same reply from MP. I did manage to get my notes today as well. They say Eligibility passed and Criminality Passed...Did you happen to ask the reason why the bfd was changed.

Hi,

They dint tell the reason but said everything is fine with the file....don't kno y they are not issuing the visa?? Did u get the reason for delay

congrats...this is an example of NDVO process..it jumped from May 15th (the last one for couple of days) to May 31st..so nothing sequential....

I agree but again depend on the case and volume of dcuments, what i mean to say is, may be some of us we provide too much info that is why it takes little bit more time to review..but for sure they work with thier own rules:)

I want all these to get over like a bad dream... one day everyone will wake up and they will find their spouse beside them... hope that day comes really fast

Thats good! However you should still renew your passport as it has to be valid 6 months from the day the visa has been issued. I had been through this is an other visa request in the past, had to rush a passport renewal last minute... It's not fun and create a lot of stress!
I guess you might be fine for receiving back the passport as you said you checked with your lawyer. My only concern is if you get an interview. I will suggest you to order regularly GCMS notes to keep track of the progress of your application and to find out ahead of time about any travel needs.
Good luck

Thanks Anishka. I talked to few people and they are saying 6 month validity of VISA is only required for tourist or work visa. They said for PR passport validity doesn't need to be 6 months. If they call her for an interview, then we definitely need to get her passport back before she can fly.
Should I call NDVO and speak to someone directly. Is it possible to get hold of someone in NDVO?
