Hi,

I'm Sponsoring my wife from India
File received: Oct 07, 2013
Decision Made: Oct 22, 2013 and sent you a letter on Oct 22, 2013
Received a letter saying you met the requirements to sponsor and your file has been sent to New Delhi on Oct 31, 2013

In one of the form I made a mistake. In IMM5669, question#6 by mistake I answered all the section as NO but the answer to 6 (d) was yes. I figured it out later on. Then I have sent them a cover letter and new form with correction and signed by my wife. It was received there on the same day I received email from them i.e. Oct 31, 2013.

Now I'm little worried if these corrections will delay my file. Hoping for the best and waiting.......

I think it will delay it but you should be happy that you found it now and you rectified and sent it. Also call the call center and let them know as well. I think it might get delayed as it has been sent to NDVO. But call the call center and ask them. But you are just starting so don't worry relax.... :)

Hi
Can someone help me here and give me some advise. Am a bit confused with all this. Me and my families are born and raise in cape town (South Africa) I have an indian ancestry (so I look indian and I speak English, Zulu, French, Hindi, Urdu very fluently) ... The man I want to get married to; is originally from India. We met online (Facebook) through mutual friend n been in a long distance relationship for 1.5 year. The problems is, he spoke to his parents about me and they do not agree with this relation because am a foreigner etc and on my side, my family is cool with him. He still want to continue our relation and want to marry me and live together. Prior to that, we couldn't meet due financial reason but we are going to meet next year in south africa for 2 months, he will be staying in my house and if everything goes well, we would want to get married. (we are both muslims). so nikaah/civil.

My concern is, after i return to canada (Am a canadian citizen now) i want to sponsor him, is that going to cause problem with the Immigration in New Delhi? Because in my home country, the bride wear white gown (like indian catholic) and for mehendi they wear (Red/Green lehenga). So i will have both but his parents won't be in our wedding, only my families about 60 peoples. so we will have small reception only.

Will all this raise red flag, I do not want them to think my marriage is not genuine or anything. Can someone advise me?

I am not an expert ...two issues raise red flags one is short duration relationship and marriage without both parties (parents) but if you can provide lots of proofs then their lordship ND visa officials would believe it is not marriage of convenience..so before applying for visa, have lots of proofs (long distance calls, travel proofs, birthday cards, letters from supporters, photos etc)

Hello thanks a lot for getting back to me.
Yes i have save all my phone details, (over 100pages) including all whatsapp text, pictures, skype, everything. My dad cannot come because his work, but i have his approval and he is paying for my trip and my mom/brother and all relative would be there.

Hey Forumn...7Finally got the PAssport Back with the shiny visa..

Visa was stamped on the 28th OCT but the Decision Made appeared only on 31st Evening and Passport back in my hand on 1st Nov.
My timeline is on the left.
Just to give an Idea about my case : Marriage first , wife was pregnant in the third month when we submitted the file , Had travel History (live in Ireland for 3 years , So had to get PCC from Ireland , Lived in Canada earlier (from 2010)

Hope this can give a GUESS-timate . But Seriously I think the NDVO have actually started working on the April FIles INstead of clearing the backlogs of 2012 and Early 2013......

Please do not send me life threatning messages as this is just my Point of view (NOthing Offical About it....AAAhhaaaa ...)

And a Big Thank you to the members....Special shout out to my man singh786 , verma88 , RD, Myrah (How can any1 4get her)......Got a lotta help so will try to help ......

Amazing! Many many congratulations!
Thank you for giving us an idea of your case. It took you about 6 months, hope the others have the same ease and luck to have their cases processed faster. And here on the forum, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. So no worries, no one will shoot the messenger ;)

All the best in your future with your family :)

There's a new procedure that will allow medical validity to be extended if your application processing is completed within 15 months of the original medical exam and the only thing stopping your application from final approved and PPR is the expiration of your medical results (or ability to reasonably land within the initial year-long validity).

Officers will now be able to submit a request for an extension of the medical exam result validity (as long as they were done within the last 15 months) and they can extend them for an additional 12 months without the need for an additional medical exam. The details are on the CIC website.

Hopefully this saves folks time and expense of extra medical exams.

That's actually very helpful, if the officers do ask for an extension. Maybe this is good news for saniali and many others whose medicals expired recently...
