Yeap. I have been to a few countries on leisure. But I think the part to note is that I have been to Canada as well. I have heard its not unusual for them to call for fingerprints in that case.

But still - the delay is worrying :(

If you don't mind can you tell me about travel history?

And don't worry if something major doubt they have then they will call for interview...

Well I had a valid visitor's visa to Canada before I got married. Hence my husband and I left for Canada after the wedding in India (me as a visitor). We applied together right away and I came back when I received the ppr. So yea less than 6 months. But still enough to be called for fingerprints.

How many months you stayed in Canada?

Guys,

Received a mail from the NDVO today. They have asked me to go for a fingerprint scan 2 weeks from now. As part of background checks. ??? ???

I really don't know why I am asked to give my fingerprints at this stage. Worrying.

God knows for how much longer this is going to be delayed. What stage is background check? Is it post eligibility and medical usually? :/

Please pray! Thanks and hugs to all waiting!
where did they call you for fingerprints ?

Oh, gud luck. My wife's case is some what similar to yours. She was in canada as studet for 3 years before we got married. We dint attach pcc from canada in her file.

This must sound really stupid and I know NDVO is really stupid.

They just want to match your fingerprints from what they have on file.... bunch of idiots man!

I think they want to check background the duration which spent in canada, by system you not have to submit Police clearance coz you stayed less then 6 months. As they requested for Finger Print means NDVO is currently working on your file so sent them a Finger Print ASAP and don't worry much :)

They fixed an appointment for me and sent it too! I have to go to NEw Delhi and give my fingerprint. And you are very right about the probable reason for the request. Jeez! Thanks but I dunno if this is going to further delay my file. :(

LOL. I concur. But they don't have my fingerprints coz I was in Canada for less than 6 months. I guess it is for the sake of keeping their system in place.

Yes. But if she was there for more than 6 months she should have attached the PCC right? Correct me if I'm wrong. Have you received any communication from NDVO yet?

Yes. difference here is that I wasn't in Canada long enough to get a PCC, but long enough to be called for fingerprinting.
