Hello All,

I submitted an application to sponsor my wife and it was received by the Mississauga office on Sept. 26. (according to Fedex!).
When can I expect to receive any acknowledgement of receipt of the application?

I am unable to use the online Client Application Status service, since I do not have an Identification number. I paid the fees online and hence do not have an IMM 5401 number. Do I need to register somewhere (ATIP/GCMS?) so that I can access the online status of my application.

do not worry for a month. Average sponsorship approval check time is 28 days. you might get response when they forward your file to NDVO. It happened true to me. Applied Feb 5, got forwarded and got letter Feb 21.

My wife got visa. The entire process took me around 8 months and few days.

Medical done - prior filing to missisauga {do not remeber - last week of jan, or first week of feb }
Application Filed to Missisauga - do not remember
Received my Missusauga - 5th Feb 2012
AOR - do not remember
Forwarded to NDVO - 21 Feb 2012
Passport Request - 9 March
Passport Received by NDVO - 14 March

In Process since - Aug 23

Visa Issued - Sept. 27 (i came to know after looking the passport)
Passport Dispatched - October 1
Decision Made - October 2.

Passport Collected October 3

Hi,

I am permanent residence of Canada. This is our first marriage.

Got married in 2012. I have applied my wife's PR from outside Canada in Jan 2013.

I attached all wedding photographs and all necessary documents shown in the checklist.

We got an e-mail from Delhi High Commission to send her passport via mail on 29 May. We sent her passport on 11 June.

Online status is still same.

Anybody does have any idea about the application status. Please let me know.

My file transferred to NDVO on July 2nd nd passport req also
On July 2nd and my hubby submited his passport on July 11th 2013.

My anniversary passed, Medical expired and 10 months has passed.


I called MP again to find out whats going on and HE WAS RUDE :-\ He said it might delay the process which is ridiculously bad excuse to be so lazy..

I sent email twice already to NDVO but No respond.

Still waiting for an interview date. :-\

Whats going to happen if you medical is expired already?? mine was expired end of september..
Are they going to ask to redot medical??? If so, are they going to take longer?? I waited enough ..

All 2012 applicants waited long enough...

So sad to hear that! I'm also desparately waiting for interview! It is so frustrating seeing that no interviews are happening for months! Sometimes I feel that they are just forgetting us, just processing cases that they consider easy and just too lazy to deal with interviews.

You have been waiting for too long already! Hope you'll get a date really soon and a nice shiny visa right after your interview!

Hi, no you shouldn't be concerned. Most people here on the forum also don't have a medical received update. Sometimes NDVO is too lazy to update or they haven't looked at your medicals yet.

First of all, welcome to the forum. What's your timeline?
Secondly, Yes. They can request passport without starting anything on your application. They just make sure all the papers are there and ask for your passport so that they could go through it later. I got PPR but my status shows app received on ECAS. That is how it happens usually.

Congratulations !! one question- I have already paid to courier company in Kathmandu for two way service. That is Kathmandu to Delhi and Delhi to Kathmandu after visa issuance. Do u think they ask for "Address Request" in this case?
