hi,
My name is Sreeram and I am planning to apply for my wife. As per the documents needed for sponsoring a spouse, we have to submit a option 'C' print out which is the tax statement for the previous financial year. As I have been in Canada for just over 3 months I am not eligible to get one. So is there any other document that I can submit instead of Option 'C' printout??
What is the approximate time of processing once the documents are submitted

Hi all,

Just got my GCMS notes for my wife's application back today. These are some status updates:

Update Date: 2013/03/26
Security: Not started
Criminality: Not Started
Medical: Passed

Update Date: 2013/07/15
Eligibility: In Progress (Recommend Passed)
Notes: *Interview waiver recommended*. FOSS checked for PA and sponsor, nothing adverse. PA and sponsor are compatible, the relationship appears to be genuine. File sent to officer for review

Basically besides adding notes, they've got all passports and docs but haven't touched the file since they received it on March 28th. Looks like it's gonna be a very long wait.
That looks good... so far, I haven't seen a single case where Security and Criminality is not "Not Started"... I wonder if they update these fields at all... I read some where in forums that for security sake, they do not disclose Security and Criminality status... I am not sure if this is true...

regdards,

Sreeram

You dont have to submit the option c in this case. Do you have a job and pay stubs ?

Hi sreeram, in your case, you can not get Option 'C' and neither NOA (Notice Of Assessment). So you do not need to submit this for your case. But provide your explanation for not sending Option 'C' on a seperate sheet of paper as mentioned in CheckList (IMM 5491 form - item# 17). Also as per item# 19 in the checklist, send your pay-stubs since start of your job.
I suggest you to complete your documentation ASAP and file your application. As per CIC site, it says around 1 month for step 1 which is sponsorship approval that is done in Canada and then file gets transfered to India and in India, the processing time is 11 months as per cic site. But most of the cases doesn't take 11 months in India. As per my observation most of the cases wil be done in 5 to 8 months of time. Good luck to you.
