Hi all,

Just got my GCMS notes for my wife's application back today. These are some status updates:

Update Date: 2013/03/26
Security: Not started
Criminality: Not Started
Medical: Passed

Update Date: 2013/07/15
Eligibility: In Progress (Recommend Passed)
Notes: *Interview waiver recommended*. FOSS checked for PA and sponsor, nothing adverse. PA and sponsor are compatible, the relationship appears to be genuine. File sent to officer for review

Basically besides adding notes, they've got all passports and docs but haven't touched the file since they received it on March 28th. Looks like it's gonna be a very long wait.

don't worry m sure it will b all done in a week or so - since now they hv started working on family class applications so hopefully most Jan Feb applicant will get it soon :)

My husband has two refusals i.e. one is student visa and the other one is dependent case refusal as his mom is canadian citizen, she tried to sponsor him but he was over age to be dependent. Is it going to affect my spousal sponsorship :o?

I think the only issue will be for your husband is that immigration will think that your husband only aim is to get to Canada my any means. They will be very concern about the genuine and carefully checking the marriage genuineness. Make sure you prepare that well, most likely he will get an interview. This is purely an opinion base and my experience from previous known cases.

Not only bored, but broke. Living in Canada is not cheap, and it takes two incomes to live a fairly decent life. Unless you hubby is a millionaire of course! ;)

Yes life is hard and stressful here, not fun at all.
Unless your a millionaire

My sister did the same thing and they refused her every-time. Her PR expired and she went back and never renewed, so she lost status.
Appeal for renewal failed as well on compassionate grounds.

Now she is trying to get in on the student visa and already got rejected twice.

There are two things here...

its the opportunity for you to go back to India...

But yes how you will feed her once she is here..it will be very difficult for both of you..

I know skas ! Have been there its just that u get paid what u work for unless like in here ! wherein u work for 14 to 16 hrs n dnt get paid properly ! So will be working u have better life :)

N yaa congo for DM :)

Yeah, I lived in India for 5 years. I went there for work at first then met my husband. I told him how can you slog 16 hours a day and get paid so little? Let's go to Canada. it took me some time to convince him to leave as he wanted to advance in his career first (now he knows that was stupid). My mother-in-law as well, she has two masters degrees and is a professor in an engineering college. She gets paid so little. She is also an IELTS examiner and gets paid better than her college job. Problem is that nothing is regulated there, some of my (expat) friends in Hyderabad pay their drivers and house help the same amount of money as my husband was being paid per month at the start of his software career. It's ridiculous!
